It's a beautiful day and a lovely Tuesday to you all creative minds and lovers of creativity in this great community @diyhub i hope you are all having great time out there, it is another day for my to share with you the making of a matching mother and daughter bow headband for my friend and her new born baby girl.
Well, i wouldn't say i purposely made the headband for my friend initially, it was actually my friend who admired it on me and finally have it to herself and luckily got one for her daughter too.
Last week, i went to pay my friend a visit a month after she gave birth to her baby, when i was looking for what to wear to her place, i ended up making this headband for myself to complement my outfit and it was looking really nice on me that most people admired it, when i got to my friend's place, she also liked it and asked if I could let her have it to herself, i had no choice than to give it to her since i can always make another for myself. When i got home, i saw the remaining fabric and i thought it would be nice if a make it a matching headband for the mother and daughter, luckily enough, the remaining fabric was just the measurement i needed and it was so perfect.
This headband is made from a single piece of fabric for the bow and the main headband, let me show you how i creatively made it
From the remaining fabric i measured 24 x 6" and cut it out
It was folded in two and was sewn together on the wrong side
It was turned inside out to the right side and i placed the seam line to the middle
It was folded together and was sewn together at both ends
I turned the sewn side in and i measured 4" away from the sewn end, then it was taken to the sewing machine where i sew on the line
Both were opened to the middle and i used my thread to fold it together and secure it in form of a bow
To cover the rough part, i cut out a small piece, knot it at the middle and it was used to cover the middle of the bow just to make it stylish and beautiful
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the headband i made for my friend and her little daughter, my friend will be so glad to have this as she love to wear matching outfits with her children.
