Hello everyone
A beautiful and lovely day to you all it's been few weeks that I have been away but I'm so glad to be fully back.
I came across a young woman who happens to be my sister's friend, I got to know her not quite long but since I've known her, I have not seen her with a stylish outfit other than simple long A-shape gown.
Though there are different people with different choices of outfit but as a young woman, one needs to have different outfit for different outing or occasions one must not be stick to one particular type of outfit.
I had it in mind to let her know the beauty of wearing a stylish and beautiful outfit, lucky enough, she brought 4yards of Ankara fabric for me to make the usual for her but I told her I will make something stylish and nice for her instead, we argued about that for awhile but she finally agreed with me on the condition that if she doesn't like it, I will have to wear it 😂😂😂😂.
I made this gown for a friend of mine and she so loved it so I decided to make same for my sister's friend also and I believe she will like it as well.
I took my time to make this as I don't want to end up wearing it myself as she said. Making this outfit took a lot of time but I'm glad it came out nice.
The cutting and sewing process
Using her measurement, I folded the fabric to cut out basic front and back of the lower part of the gown to 2" above the knee length.
The back zipper allowance was sewn together downward just for me to achieve the style line, I curve out from the hip line down to the hem line right side facing each other.
The front and back were sewn together and I measured from the front waistline round to the back waistline so as to cut out x2 of a plain fabric to complete the full length of the gown. The plain fabric was pleated on the the line after which the pieces I cut out from the style line was sewn back to cover the tight and knee from being exposed, all these was done and set aside.
The upper bodice was made of a simple off shoulder princess dart bustier with a basic long sleeve
Finally, I added zipper to the back and I have my complete outfit looking really nice.
Note: The outfit was fully lined including the side ruffles
Guess what! My sister's friend fell in love with it and thanked me for the beautiful outcome of the outfit.
I am so glad I didn't disappoint myself from trying to make her see the beauty in wearing stylish outfit.
Don't just limit yourself to one particular type of outfit, try to change, have different types at least few will do, of course there are different types of outfit for different occasions.
