Hello everyone
Greetings to you all in this great community @diyhub and hive at large, I hope you are all doing great just as I am doing here, it's my pleasure to share with you the making of this simple purse with divider pocket using a cut out from my old jeans trousers.
Recently, I decided to cut one of my old jeans trousers to a short so as to be wearing it around the house, this particular jeans had been abandoned for awhile because it looks old and worn out and to put it into good use by cutting it into a short and It has been very useful to me.
As a seamstress who likes to put every pieces of fabric into good use to the last piece, I decided to use the cut out from the jeans to make a purse for myself and the outcome is so nice and beautiful.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process
From one of the piece I cut out from the jeans, I rip the seam off and measured 12 x 7" for the base of the purse
I cut out 2 pieces of 7 x 5" for the inner pocket
I measured my zipper to be 6" and I sew a small piece on both sides
The two pieces for the inner pocket were sewn on both sides of the zipper and top stitched on both sides
I folded the inner pocket together and sew it round
I cut out 2 pieces of 4 x 3" and fixed the inner pocket at the middle on both sides and it was sewn together just as seen below
The main fabric for the purse was pipe on both sides with a bias tape for neat finishing
The side of the inner pocket was sewn to the main fabric on both sides form one end to another
I took my bias tape and sew it round the edges for neat finishing and this is the final outcome with a pressing button fixed on both sides
This is the final outcome with a pocket for cash, the zipper pocket for cards and the last pocket for phone
With all my items in it, it was clip together with the pressing button
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of my purse with divider pocket as I put my cut out jeans into good use.
