Last week or so, I headed to work and as usual, I'd meet up with my colleague at the gate and we'd drive to our block. However recently, I noticed that after calling him that I am set out, he would not leave his house. I would have to go and be waiting for him at the entrance of the yard.
The last time, the security asked me to go wait inside at the waiting area and if I did, I'd miss my colleague so it turned into an argument. For that reason, I decided that if I got to work before him, I'd just walk down to the office and not wait.
On that fateful day last week, I was already leaving my house and he said he was also leaving his. But on getting to the gate, he wasn't there. I called him and it was his usual excuse of being around the area. Knowing that he would take another 30 mins to show up, I decided to walk down in order to avoid embarrassment from the security personnel.
It was morning, but the sun was burning. I was already dehydrated from all that sweatiness and deep down I regretted my decision and just wished that God could spare me and send a good Samaritan my way. I kept walking at a slow pace, trying to conserve my energy because I hadn't had any breakfast. Looking ahead, I saw my office building and I became hopeful. Almost there, I thought in anticipation.
While I struggled with my long walk of about 20 mins, a very clean ride pulled up by my side. I halted and looked at the already wind-down window where a man said, “you know that you are too beautiful to be trekking under the sun, do you want a ride?”
"Oh yes!" I screamed and immediately let myself in before he could ask me to come in.
"Where are you headed?" He inquired
"Oh Block C"
"Are you an intern there?"
"Oh no, I work with a private company"
"Oh that explains it."
At this point, I smiled at him because I had nothing else to say. I am a chatty person yeah, but I was already exhausted from all that walk and I wasn't really looking to keep up a conversation. Regardless of how I felt, I did steal several glances at him because I needed to get a proper image of who I was in a ride with.
From his hands on the steering, to what he was putting on, down to his flat tummy and then his sophisticated briefcase at the back of the car, coupled with how nicely the car smells from his perfume. I was mesmerized and couldn't even hear him at first when he called out to me and asked for my name.
"Are you ok?" He questioned, giving me a stare. Boy! I melted because this man is mighty fine and the exact replica of Aaron Pierre just the darker version. His skin was giving the texture and feel of a chocolate cake and his baritone voice?? Heavenly!
I immediately saw myself do things that I wouldn't usually do. I became conscious of how I looked. I found myself running my fingers through my wig to get it straightened. I immediately realised how sweaty I was and became really concerned.
Not only that but I saw myself smiling sheepishly at everything that he said and at that moment, I knew I was lovestruck and I was downfall if I acted on it.
You know, I once saw a movie where the lead actor said that the thing about crushes is that you'll always get crushed most especially when the person that you are crushing on does not feel the same way.
I have always been loud about my feelings and I also do not hesitate to talk about them with whoever that I'm crushing on. Unfortunately, they often don't feel the same way at first and would go on to say let's just be friends. In most cases, from that friendship, they'll start developing feelings for me and we'd eventually date which often ends badly.
Again, it took me writing this prompt to realize that all the relationships that I have had stem from love at first sight and usually they were initiated by me. Seeing how it all ended badly, I made up my mind to stop doing the chase and let my love interest chase me or make the first move.
Maybe just maybe, it will lead to death do us part.

la semana pasada más o menos, me dirigí a trabajar y como siempre, me reuní con my cloil. la puerta y nosotros conduciríamos a nuestro bloque. Sin embargo, recientemente, noté que después de llamarlo que estoy destacado, no saldría de su casa. Tendría que ir y esperarlo en la entrada del patio.
La última vez, la seguridad me pidió que fuera a esperar adentro en el área de espera y si lo hiciera, extrañaría a mi colega para que se convirtiera en una discusión. Por esa razón, decidí que si pudiera trabajar antes que él, simplemente caminaría a la oficina y no esperaría.
En ese fatídico día la semana pasada, ya salía de mi casa y dijo que también se iba de la suya. Pero al llegar a la puerta, él no estaba allí. Lo llamé y era su excusa habitual para estar en el área. Sabiendo que tomaría otros 30 minutos para aparecer, decidí caminar hacia abajo para evitar la vergüenza del personal de seguridad.
Era mañana, pero el sol estaba ardiendo. Ya estaba deshidratado de todo ese sudor y en el fondo, lamenté mi decisión y deseé que Dios pudiera ahorrarme y enviarme a un buen samaritano a mi manera. Seguí caminando a un ritmo lento, tratando de conservar mi energía porque no había desayunado. Mirando hacia el futuro, vi el edificio de mi oficina y tuve esperanzas. Casi allí, pensé con anticipación.

Mientras estugué con mi larga caminata de aproximadamente 20 minas, un ronda. a mi lado. Me detuve y miré a la ventana de Winddown donde un hombre dijo: "Sabes que eres demasiado hermosa para caminar bajo el sol, ¿quieres un viaje?"
"¡Oh, sí!" Grité e inmediatamente me dejé entrar antes de que pudiera pedirme que entrara.
"¿A dónde te diriges?" Preguntó
"Oh, bloque C"
"¿Eres un pasante allí?"
"Oh no, trabajo con una empresa privada"
"Oh, eso lo explica". ~
En este punto, le sonreí porque no tenía nada más que decir. Soy una persona habladora, sí, pero ya estaba agotado por toda esa caminata y realmente no estaba buscando mantener una conversación. Independientemente de cómo me sentía, le robé varias miradas porque necesitaba obtener una imagen adecuada de con quién estaba en un viaje.
Desde sus manos en la dirección, a lo que estaba poniendo, hasta su barriga plana y luego su sofisticado maletín en la parte posterior del automóvil, junto con lo bien que huele el auto de su perfume. Estaba hipnotizado y ni siquiera podía escucharlo al principio cuando me llamó y me pidió mi nombre.
"¿Estás bien?" Él cuestionó, dándome una mirada. ¡Chico! Me derrití porque este hombre está muy bien y la réplica exacta de Aaron Pierre solo la versión más oscura. ¿Su piel estaba dando la textura y la sensación de un pastel de chocolate y su voz de barítono? ¡Celestial!
Me vi inmediatamente hacer cosas que no solía hacer. Me puse consciente de cómo miré. Me encontré corriendo mis dedos a través de mi peluca para enderezarla. Inmediatamente me di cuenta de lo sudoroso que estaba y me preocupaba mucho.
No solo eso, sino que me vi sonriendo tímidamente por todo lo que dijo y en ese momento, supe que estaba amando y estaba caída si actuaba en él.
Sabes, una vez vi una película en la que el actor principal dijo que lo que pasa con los enamoramientos es que siempre te aplastarán, especialmente cuando la persona en la que estás aplastando no siente lo mismo.
Siempre he sido ruidoso sobre mis sentimientos y tampoco dudo en hablar de ellos con quien esté enamorado. Desafortunadamente, a menudo no se sienten de la misma manera al principio y continuarían diciendo que seamos amigos. En la mayoría de los casos, a partir de esa amistad, comenzarán a desarrollar sentimientos por mí y eventualmente saldríamos, lo que a menudo termina mal. desde el amor a primera vista y generalmente fueron iniciados por mí. Al ver cómo terminó todo, me decidí a dejar de hacer la persecución y dejar que mi interés amoroso me persiga o haga el primer movimiento.
Tal vez solo, tal vez, nos llevará a la muerte.
