Hey guys… what’s up?
Remember some weeks back when I told you about how my school management chose to postpone our examinations so as to give students time to pay up their fees? Well, that was over a month ago. Now, at long last, we have finally started the exams, but at what cost?
The last couple of weeks have been wrought with unprecedented holidays, as in, they were back to back, making us tired of the whole thing especially seeing how most of it was motivated by money! As a result, during this period, the school was dry as it would be during the holidays. Those who wanted to travel did so without wasting any time and for those who were trying to work, it was an ample opportunity.
The first suspension was for two weeks, however, that didn’t seem to do the trick for them so they piled another two weeks. And that was one full month at home. But then, as we were gearing to resume and begin writing our exams, those who traveled to far places returned and the general school vibes were slowly returning… the one-week sit-at-home came up.
This prompted the school to give us yet another two weeks holiday which ended yesterday that was Monday. And today, we finally wrote the first paper. And I have to confess, getting back to this was not as easy as riding a bike.
There’s nothing quite like after building up the momentum all through the semester, you end it all with an exam and know that you’re leaving it all behind once and for all. However, when you go home for more than a month, reading might become easier, but that doesn’t mean what you’re reading will stay in your head. Especially when you don’t know how long you’ll spend on such a holiday.
As for the exam, it went quite well, considering. But this is just the beginning and as I keep striking down paper after paper, I’ll eventually get into the academic spirit. Because I won’t lie, getting my mojo back is coming a bit too slowly for me. For now, I just want the exam to be done so I can move on with my life.
But then, the end justifies the means, right? The main thing now is that we’ve started our exams and if we keep this up, we’ll finish it exactly when we’re supposed to finish it. Not before or after.
But then, I’ve been hearing another rumor of another upcoming sit-at-home later this month. I don’t know if this is real or not but if it is, it’s surely going to affect our exams yet again. And we’ll most likely have to go on another two weeks' holiday with the students.
Anyway… what’s the point of crying over spilled milk? What’s done is done. I’ll keep preparing for my exam and I’ll be sure to give it my best. No matter how bad the school teaches us, I’m certain to say that we would put in our best and try as much as possible to make the papers in a flying hale storm.
