Now let me continue my blog about BGC or Bonifacio Global City. As what I have mentioned in my previous blog, we wanted to drop by at Tim Hortons to rest and also to try their coffee. I forgot what I ordered exactly but I think it was a frappe because that is what I always order in any coffee shop like in SB or CBTL. Also, I was also focused on taking pictures for this anticipated post.
Meanwhile, let me show you the pictures I had taken from Tim Hortons. Not everybody knows that I also have obsessions with photography but I am still practicing this skill with my Pandemic Camera Canon M50. I call it as such because I bought it in the height of the pandemic. Please bear with me in this attempt.
Grace and Ann did the ordering at the counter while France and I were assigned to look for a table. We went upstairs to find a table but it was humid there, so we just decided to have our table outside the shop.
While we were enjoying our drinks we decided to talk about where we were going to next. We googled where to go next while we were still in BGC. We found a list of places that we could visit and two attractions topped the list, the Mind Museum and the Happy World. However, the Mind Museum was close that day so we plan to visit Happy World. We also decided to go to Venice after.
When we finished our coffee and a slice of cake, we started walking again for our next destination. I took lot of photos while strolling the place. And again, I was amazed of the tall buildings I see. Indeed, this is not just IT Park 2.0 but an IT Park 5.0. This is Bonifacio Global City with a strong emphasis on the words, "Global City".
For someone who loves seeing skyscrapers, BGC is very satisfying. I know there are also many tall buildings in Cebu but BGC is on a different level.
Anyway, we continued to walk to look for our next destination. Ann led us the way as she was the one who was checking the map app. She told us earlier that day that there were two routes that we could take but she decided to take the longer route. I was okay with that because that would give us a bigger opportunity to tour the place and me to take some more photos.
For example this mural, how could I possibly just skip this from my album. Of course, I need to have a picture of this work of art! And maybe print it out and paste it on my bullet journal. This is one beautiful addition to my collection. So, even if it was very hot and we were walking quite quickly, I still managed to take few pictures of it! 😊
Clearly, from time to time we would stop by if we found something or somewhere instagramable. But most of the time I was left behind the group because of my desire to capture some more photos. That was fine with me though because I was doing it for my soul or for personal satisfaction.
We continued to walk but Grace was already complaining because of her shoe bite. Few days ago, we bought a new pair of shoes so that we could give this trip something new also, and these pair of shoes were our gifts for ourselves for finally tying the knot forever. Going back to the shoe bite, we looked for a pharmacy or 7 eleven to buy band-aid to at least minimize the friction and then the pain while walking.
We started asking people already if we were already near the Happy World Museum, but we always get negative answers like, “I don’t know that place”. But we continued our stroll confident that we were guided by the google maps.
Then we reached this place! There was a commotion going on in this place when we artived here. Employees were going out of the buildings, holding their phone cameras, and fire trucks were coming! So, there was a fire going on and we could not continue because the road was blocked.
So, we stopped by on this place for a while to rest, entered some shops, went to the CR and took some photos, of course. Grace also found a good time to rest her feet and fix her band-aids.
After 30 minutes, we decided to continue our journey using another alternative route. It was a longer route, but we were determined to reach it despite the fact that we already used up a lot of our time (more than an hour) from walking. We were motivated to walk because Google Map told us that we were very close to our destination.
Then we reached Market Market (a mall)! Google Maps told us that we arrived at our destination. We were shocked because we never thought that HappyWorld Museum was inside a mall. We did not have any choice so we entered the mall then asked the guard,“Sir, nasaan po ang HappyWorld Museum?” And the guard simply answered,”Close na po. Hindi na po sila nag-ooperate ngayon” We were totally stunned when we heard the greatest prank of the day.
We were left with no choice but to accept the our fate that we walked for more than two hours for nothing. We appeal to Google and to HappyWorld to always update the status of your business in your website always! Anyways, it was already lunch time when we arrived at the mall so we decide to have our lunch at Jollibee. After that, Grace and Ann enjoyed a chair massage, while France and I looked for a real whole body massage.
We went out and headed to Venice Grand Canal Mall which I will be sharing on my next blog! See you there!
PS.
Here’s some more photos outside Market Market!
