In our latest #podcast episode, we kicked things off in the CBRS Channel Podcast studio with our usual high energy, diving into a mix of Hive #ecosystem updates, community shout-outs, and some exciting plans for the future. Episode 28 was packed with discussions about the Hive blockchain, The Dapp List, and the vibrant community that keeps it all buzzing. Here’s a rundown of what we talked about, straight from the studio.
Weather Woes and Podcast Vibes
We started with a light-hearted chat about the unpredictable Dutch weather—sunny one day, rainy the next. It’s a classic topic for us, as the Netherlands keeps us guessing with its ever-changing skies. But the real warmth came from being back in the studio, recording on a Monday, and connecting with our listeners. We love keeping the podcast rolling and sharing the latest Hive happenings with the #community.
Dapp List Domination
A big focus of this episode was #TheDappList, a key part of the Hive ecosystem where projects get voted on to gain visibility and rewards. We shared that @PeakD had a stellar week, racking up 103 votes to soar past the 100-vote mark. That’s a huge win for the community! We also gave a shout-out to the 69 voters who snagged rewards for their early votes, with some even getting upvoted by community members like @emrebeyler, who was dropping three HIVE upvotes on comments. Talk about community love!
We’re already looking ahead to the next push. This Friday, we’re rallying behind @TheDistriator, a unique Hive Dapp that’s changing how #HBD is used globally. We explained why voting matters—it’s not just about rewards but about boosting projects that make Hive stronger. We also reflected on a recent article we posted, diving into how the Dapp List works and why more people should jump in and vote. It’s a multi-layered reward system, and we’re thrilled to see the community stepping up.
Hive Meetup Dreams
One of our favorite topics was the idea of reviving Hive #meetups in the Netherlands. We’ve been checking out local businesses that accept HBD, and we found a spot where we had lunch that could be perfect for a meetup. Imagine this: a Hive meetup where everyone pays with #HBD, snaps pictures, and gets cashback through #Distriator. It’s a win-win! We also mentioned a brewery in Enschede, a “Bitcoin city” in the Netherlands, that accepts HBD. The idea of blending #crypto with real-world spending is exciting, but we noted that onboarding businesses in the Netherlands comes with challenges like taxes and regulations. Unlike places like Mexico or Colombia, where onboarding is easier due to less red tape, we need to be ready to answer tough questions from Dutch businesses. Still, we’re optimistic and planning to make it happen.
Hive Echo and Spinning the Wheel
No CBRS podcast is complete without @Hive-Echo, where we spin a wheel to pick a winner for 50 HIVE. This week, we had 12 names in the mix: @michupa, @maiasun84, @shiftrox, @palabras1, @offia66, @finpulse, @davot, @funshee, @oadissin, @roswelborges, @acgalarza, @dipu20jaiswal. After a dramatic drumroll, the wheel almost landed on @acgalarza till the very last moment when @dipu20jaiswal snagged the win. It was amazing! We were pumped for them—a new name on the list, and we’re sure those 50 HIVE will brighten their day! We love how #Hive-Echo rewards consistency, and we encouraged everyone to keep posting videos and content. With platforms like Youtube, even a single video can blow up, and consistency is key to growth.
Talent Land Mexico and Hive Fest Hopes
We couldn’t stop talking about the #TalentLand event in Mexico, where the Hive community onboarded over 200 new users. That’s massive! We marveled at how they did it—new users took pictures with their onboarders and posted them on Hive, creating a real connection. But we also discussed the challenge of keeping these users active. It’s not just about signing up; it’s about guiding them to communities that match their interests, like #photography or #gaming. We reminisced about our own early days on Hive, when a single upvote or comment lit up our motivation. We suggested that new users start with one or two posts a week, add a proper header, and bring their unique vibe to stand out.
Shifting gears, we speculated about #HiveFest, the big annual Hive gathering. No official word yet, but we’ve heard whispers about #Colombia as a possible location. We urged the organizers to share updates soon so people can plan travel and vacations. Assumption is the mother of all mix-ups, so we’re hoping for some clarity to get the community hyped and ready.
Gamifying the Hive Experience
One of our big ideas was #gamifying the Hive #onboarding process. We brainstormed a tutorial system for new users, like a step-by-step guide with badges and rewards. Imagine earning a badge for your first introduction post or powering up 20 HIVE to unlock more tasks. We think this could help newcomers navigate Hive’s tricky learning curve and get hooked. We also suggested tying #rewards to specific milestones, like writing a 500-word post, to keep users engaged. Other platforms like KuCoin use similar systems, and we believe Hive could do it even better with its Web3 rewards.
Community Shout-Outs and Scammer Warnings
We gave props to community members like @Acidyo, who’s growing his YouTube channel with a mix of shorts, streams, and gameplay videos. His success (165 hours toward the 3,000 needed for monetization) inspired us, and we floated the idea of a Hive #Counter-Strike community match. How fun would that be? We also highlighted @LordButterfly’s Vibes project, where they’re asking for suggestions of lesser-known artists (around 100,000 followers) to feature in competitions. It’s a brilliant way to boost both artists and Hive users, creating win-win collaborations.
On a serious note, we addressed a #scam issue. A user, Scarath, called us out on Discord, thinking we (or someone posing as us) scheduled an interview, ghosted them, and sent an insulting sticker. We set the record straight: we never send personal emails or use random Gmail accounts. All our communication happens on #Discord, using our official Cold Beetroot Soup account or our personal accounts. We urged everyone to double-check account names and email addresses to avoid falling for scams. It’s frustrating that impersonators are still out there, but we’re committed to keeping the community safe.
Wrapping Up with Excitement
As we wrapped up, we couldn’t help but get excited about upcoming events like #BuzzParty in Gras, where @Minigunner will be with his son @Dovycola, and the @Splinterlands presale, where we’re itching to open card packs (champagne ready!). We also touched on Hive’s steady account growth in 2024, outpacing 2023, and encouraged everyone to vote on proposals like @VSC.Network and Hive @Keychain.
Episode 28 was all about celebrating the Hive community, from Dapp List victories to new user onboarding and big dreams for meetups and Hive Fest. We’re thrilled to keep the podcast going and can’t wait to see what’s next. Join us on the Dapp List this Friday to push Distrater up the ranks, and let us know where you think Hive Fest should be. Until next time, stay safe from scammers and keep the Hive vibe alive!
