Inexplicably, I felt that today was a much better battling day. I got a big surprise when I saw that my win rate was exactly the same as yesterday! Let's take a look!
But first, the rewards! My yesterday's 11 reward chests had 0.33 SPS, two Alchemy Potions, a Legendary one, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Pelacor Bandit and a rare Venari Crystalsmith! So cool! However, I didn't get enough potions to open a pack, unfortunately.
My focus today was Exploits, and I had difficulties trying to use the focus cards in place. For this reason, I didn't get the same chest quantity, as yesterday. I won exactly the same number battles: 16 of 28 for a 57.1% win rate. Nevertheless, I won 4.598 SPS for them. Just an itsy-bitsy more than yesterday! I also hit 2,106 rating points in Wild format.
Tomorrow, I will have 10 reward chests and I also had today two more End of Season (EOS) chests, 62 in total. I'm crawling my way at this rate to 70 chests!
I would like to say thanks to @kryptodenno for the awesome prize I got today in his daily giveaways! I got a Crystal Jaguar! My goal is to level up that card, and thanks to him, I'm closer now! I also won several cards from him in the past, and I even leveled a Sniping Narwhal up to level 2. Here is the post where I won the present card: @kryptodenno/dennos-splinterlands-giveaway-3-monsters-a-day-503. Thank you very much for your generosity!
Today, I had an interesting battle when I confronted the Byzantine Kitty summoner and won! When I usually meet Kitty, I automatically think, "Agh! I lost!". But, if you think carefully how to win, you can! Although it is not the first time that I won over her, this is one of those few times that I sent my lineup without giving much thought at it, and expecting nothing but a loss. For those still thinking that Tarsa is a nothing-burger summoner, think twice. This new Chaos Legion meta came to shake things up and brush aside those overpowered cards.
The battle mana cap was 42. A very good number to place high mana cards mixed along with lower ones. The rulesets were "Melee Mayhem" where every Melee monster can attack regardless of its position; and "Taking Sides", which consists in taking all your neutral cards out of your deck. The allowed Splinters were Fire, Water and Dragon. Without neutral cards, and all melee monsters attacking the opponent's tank, there was only one option for me: Tarsa.
Tarsa gives you one of health to all your cards, as well as +1 melee attack. Kitty had true strike, healing tank and +2 speed. Oh, boy! So, how this worked well? The answer is Grum and Septic Slime. Grum Flameblade has the Bloodlust ability, which makes him grow with every kill. His Attack, Armor, Health and Speed increases in +1 every time he beats a card. On the other hand, Septic Slime has Stun, which freezes the enemy for one turn, provided the ability is triggered with the blow, which it's a 50% chance. Both monsters are super slow, and I had not high hopes against that Kitty's +2 speed. However, my opponent's flaw was that he set two big monsters (The Kraken and Sea Monster) in the first two places with 12 and 8 of mana respectively; and a Dragon Jumper with 7 mana in the place before the last spot. Kitty herself has 7 mana! That's 34 mana total, meaning the other spots had to be filled with low mana cards. I also set Living Lava and Antoid Platoon in the first and last places, respectively. The reason for this is that both cards have the Shield ability, in which they receive only half of the hit damage. This means every attack with only one melee attack will be nullified. Unfortunately, my opponent chose only one card with such characteristic. But, this was enough to endure and to attack back! Once Grum eats a card, he will grow out of control! I had luck because Septic Slime stunned my opponents cards very frequently, giving me the chance to get rid off my opponent's line up. I had fun battles today and I can't complain about them. Maybe I feel a little less frustrated than yesterday. Nevertheless, I hope the next following days get more relaxed, but getting so close to the upcoming EOS makes me think the opposite. Let's cross fingers!!! Thank you for reading my journal!
