What does it take to double Hive's market cap with another fresh 600 million dollars injection?
Let's do a quick calculation of the potential market size of Hive based on what we know about the current numbers of Facebook users.
As it turns out, there are 240 million Facebook users in the United States, according to information found here. Info reproduced below.
Supposedly we can convince a mere 5% of the 240,000,000 (i.e. 12,000,000) American users to come onboard Hive with an initial investment of US$50 each to buy Hive to power it up. The market cap of Hive will immediately be increased by 600,000,000 (i.e. 12,000,000 x $50). That is double what Hive is today.
Given the propositions of what Hive can offer, i.e. earning from posting and upvoting, it should not be difficult for us, who are Facebook users to be ambassadors of Hive on Facebook to win some of our friends over. If you have 100 friends on Facebook, convincing 5 of them to come to Hive should not be difficult. I mean, each of us should have 5 friends who trust us, right?!
Anyway, this seems like a modest estimation overall. It is only the Americans we are talking about here.
The untapped market is way larger.
