Lately with the new virus, we have had to spend more time at home, almost unable to leave, because of the risk of contagion, and the most viable alternative for distraction these days is the internet, social networks, largely everything is being virtual.
So now the cryptocurrency market has been much more widely used this is so at every point in the globe, and already most countries have implemented ways to accept these as a payment method.
Now that the demand is greater, people have taken on the task of finding and inventing ideas to obtain the precious digital gold.
In this new post I will comment a bit on one of those ideas, although crazy! may work.
How do they mine bitcoin with this new idea?
So the most absurd thing you could do is try to mine Bitcoin with a little bit of power, like a Nintendo Game Boy system. And yet, that’s precisely what they’ve done on the YouTube stacksmashing channel, mostly for a laugh.
A handheld video game console released by Nintendo 30 years ago serves as the basis for building a new device that mines bitcoins. The youtuber identified as stacksmashing used his old Game Boy to extract the pioneering cryptocurrency, of course, using a little help, but managing to reuse an artifact so old that many will have in disuse.
This console was developed long before the Internet became massive, it cannot connect to the network and even less is able to store the entire bitcoin block chain. So to solve it, stacksmashing attaches the device to a computer running a node. To do so, use a Game Link port that has the game console to facilitate multiplayer. In the old days it was possible to exchange Pokemones this way.
In order for the Game Boy to receive instructions through the computer, the youtuber linked it with a RaspBerry Pi Pico micro pc that it uses as an intermediate station to facilitate the reading of network protocols.
Then Stacksmashing programmed the ROM or read-only memory of the Game Boy, whose development kit is open source to implement a software to mine bitcoin on GPU. In this way, the youtuber started the device reaching just 0.8 hashes per second.
How long will it take you to mine 1 bitcoin with a Game Boy?
Taking into account that a WhatsMiner M30S can reach 112 terahashes per second, this mining team then has a performance that is 140 billion times higher than a Game Boy.
That means that, if we wanted to mine 1 BTC with just one Game Boy, it would take approximately two billion years; unfortunately, before the thermal death of the universe would arrive and the BTC that we get would not help us much.
This new idea, to be fair is not at all profitable, but it is certainly its creator has great ingenuity and creativity.

¿Cómo minan bitcoin, con esta nueva idea?
Así que lo más absurdo que podrías hacer es intentar minar Bitcoin con un equipo poco potente; como por ejemplo, una consola Game Boy de Nintendo. Y sin embargo, eso es precisamente lo que han hecho en el canal de YouTube stacksmashing, más que nada para echarse unas risas.
Una consola portátil de videojuegos que fue lanzada por Nintendo hace 30 años, sirve como base para construir un nuevo dispositivo que mina bitcoins. El youtuber identificado como stacksmashing utilizó su vieja Game Boy para extraer la criptomoneda pionera, por supuesto, usando un poco de ayuda, pero logrando reutilizar un artefacto tan viejo que muchos tendrán en desuso.
Esta consola se Desarrollo mucho antes de que Internet se masificara, no puede conectarse a la red y menos aún es capaz de almacenar toda la cadena de bloques de bitcoin. Así que para resolverlo, stacksmashing acopla el aparato a una computadora que ejecuta un nodo. Para hacerlo, usa un puerto Game Link que tiene la videoconsola para facilitar el modo multijugador. En los viejos tiempos era posible intercambiar Pokemones por esta vía.
Para que la Game Boy reciba instrucciones a través de la computadora, el youtuber la enlazó con un micro pc RaspBerry Pi Pico que utiliza como estación intermedia para facilitar la lectura de los protocolos de redes.
Luego Stacksmashing programó la ROM o memoria de solo lectura de la Game Boy, cuyo kit de desarrollo es de código abierto para implementar un software para minar bitcoin en GPU. De esta manera, el youtuber echó a andar el dispositivo alcanzando apenas 0,8 hashes por segundo.
¿Cuánto tiempo tardarás en minar 1 bitcoin con una Game Boy?
Tomando en cuenta que una WhatsMiner M30S puede alcanzar 112 terahashes por segundo, este equipo minero entonces tiene un rendimiento que está 140 mil millones de veces por encima de una Game Boy.
Eso significa que, si quisiéramos minar 1 BTC sólo con una Game Boy, tardaríamos aproximadamente dos mil billones de años; lamentablemente, antes llegaría la muerte térmica del universo y el BTC que consigamos no nos serviría de mucho.
Este nueva idea, para ser justos no es nada rentable, pero es sin duda su creador tiene un gran ingenio e creatividad.
