The dCity project is chuggin along on the chain, slowly but surely. Recently there was announcement about a 100 days giveway, but apart from that there haven’t been much happening around it.
Still the project remains sound with more than 50k liquidity for the SIM token, attractive LP rewards (more than 50% everything combined) for the pool and cards that hold their value at decent levels.

For those not familiar with the game, dCity is a city simulator game where players are buying NFTs in form of a cards, that represent buildings and then try to optimize their city production.
Players are rewarded with the in-game token SIM on a daily basis based on their city production. The top 400 players are rewarded with HIVE based on their ranking on the leaderboard. SIM holders are also rewarded in HIVE for holding SIM.
Here we will be looking into the following:
• Cards issued by date
• Cards issued by type
• Cards issued by player
• SIM and HIVE rewarded to players
• SIM Issued
• Cards buying
• Top earners
The period that we will be looking here is from the start of the game, at the end of January 2020 till Aug 22, 2022.
Cards Issued
Here is the chart of the cards issued per day.
The spikes in the chart are usually when new editions of cards are put in circulation. The highest has been at the end of 2020 when the second edition came out. The third edition was in April 2021. We can see some spikes again in April 2022.
On average there is around 500 cards minted daily in the last period.
The chart above doesn’t include cards like immigrants, homeless and the other citizens cards that players get randomly. No tech cards as well.
The monthly chart looks like this.
This represents a bit clearer view. We can see the uptrend up to April 2022 and in the last months there are much smaller numbers for cards minted per month. Between 10k to 13k in the last few months.
Cards Issued by Player
Here is the chart for the top 20 players that purchased cards in the last 30 days.
@steemshiro is on the top followed by @d-pend.
SIM Issued
How about printing SIM? Here is the chart.
SIM printing happens occasionally when the @dcitygame is out of funds. Usually, a lot of SIM is being recirculated. When someone buys cards with SIM it is then used to reward the players.
We can see that in the last months there is no printing SIM at all.
The chart for the supply looks like this.
We can see clearly the no printing SIM period here as well with the supply staying flat for months. The total supply of SIM 414M now. Out of this 92M is in the SIM:HIVE pool.
SIM Rewarded
Even with no printing SIM the game rewards players with its token. The amounts have been lower because of the high taxes but still there is SIM rewarded to players.
Around 1M SIM daily rewarded to players. These numbers are quite steady in the period. At the ATH there was more than 5M SIM rewards daily.
How about SIM spent?
The chart for buying cards with SIM looks like this.
This is very similar to the chart for issued cards.
Note that the above is only for buying cards, in game upgrades that cost SIM are not included.
SIM Rewarded VS SIM Spent
Here is the chart.
This is basically showing is how much SIM didn’t go back in the game and players hold it. SIM has multiple functions now, like electing president, lobing for rewards distributions, and holding rewards.
As mentioned in game upgrades are not included above, and I guess when they are included the positive SIM bar will get closer to zero.
The Top SIM Earners
Here is the chart for the top SIM earners in the period.
@d-pend on the top here, followed by @steemshiro.
HIVE Rewards
The game is rewarding players in HIVE as well.
At first these rewards were distributed on a weekly basis and afterwards on daily basis. 50% of the cards sales goes into the reward pool, and 0.5% of that is distributed daily to players. There are holdings rewards for the SIM token as well.
Here is the chart.
The orange is the SIM holding rewards, and the white, ranking rewards.
We can see that the holding rewards have overtaken the ranking rewards for HIVE. On average around 400 HIVE is distributed daily.
Top HIVE Earners
Here is the chart for the top HIVE earners in the last 30 days.
@d-pend on the top followed by @dcity.hbd account.
Both, ranking and holding rewards are included in the above.
SIM Price
How about the SIM price?
Here is the chart
A more than one year period on the chart above. The price is HIVE.
The game accepts the SIM token for buying cards at 200 SIM to 1 HIVE (0.002), each card bought from the game is selling for 4 HIVE or 800 SIM.
We can see from the chart that the SIM token has been trading in the range from 0.0005 to 0.002 HIVE. Since the start of 2022 the token price is steady around the 0.0005 that seems to be a sort of bottom. A reminder that as the token price drops, the SIM tax increases and less SIM is rewarded to players. When the token price increases, more SIM printing is put in place and more rewards are distributed.
All the best
