Technology has been praised for several achievements and one indeed cannot doubt this. We have seen how it has ease in human activities. Looking from the invention of cars, fast moving trains, airplanes that makes transportation easier or tech gadgets like the mobile phones, ear pods and several others which have advanced the way humans interact and solve problems in their day to day activities. We saw the the rise of blockchain technology over a decade ago and how it has shaped the financial world, social media presence when it comes to decentralization.
As technology continues to move at a fast pace, there has been a recent shift of focus to what many see as the possible next big thing in the industry; artificial intelligence (ai). How it is meant to shape humans and advance us even in an already advanced world is something intriguing. Just like telling a millionaire you are still poor, let me make you a billionaire. Despite the goods it has in its package for us, one should not exempt himself from viewing the possible damages with questions like; how safe will humanity be in the nearer future if not soon?.
We have heard how AI will in the process disrupt the labor markets, taking jobs from people to AI powered machines and robots. We also know what computerization has done to the labor market and many see it as adding salt to the wounds when it comes to AI. Nevertheless, technology has always presented itself as an opportunity to those who are ready to blend, we can also say computerization has created lots of jobs and millionaires in the process.
We have heard news of how AI has been adopted to mimic the voices of individuals just as it recently happened in the United States when a voice note was passed and was attributed to President Joe Biden. We saw whitehouse denying Biden being involved in any of those and the fault put into the AI industry. Also, in another case is how AI has been used to abuse children by using the faces of teenagers to create immoral photos giving more rise to the pornography industry. Parents now fear to upload the photos of their children in online platforms to avoid the trauma it can bring to their child if they fall victim.
Does all these bother you? Even with several negative activities that have been attributed to artificial intelligence (AI), I see this more of a tip of the iceberg, the worse may be yet to come and I am going to analyze it. We needed advancement but yet we may soon be taken full advantage of. If we will be able to avoid this is a matter of time or agreement to stop some technological advancement.
Can AI endanger Us?
I guess the right question here should be, can't AI endanger us. I am seeing sci-fi movies coming to reality in a very playful manner. I can remember that old time movie I watched when I was a teenager; 'I robot', don't know how many of you have watched it but if you have you will get a full understanding of where I am heading to. What if powerful AI programs decide to turn against man and the entire story changes from man being in control to man being controlled.

We know that AI can be used to stir wars causing a possible world war. As I said, when it falls to the wrong hands which it definitely will, its will be left for us to see how they will use it. Will man create powered AI robots who will in turn give us unprecedented orders if the program's codes get altered by hackers. How will it be negatively leveraged to wreck the financial industries?. Has the right calculation and measures been put in place? Is this technology a do or die affair? We need to think fast.
Elon musk skeptical about AI technogy
Right from inception, we have heard the world richest man Elon Musk complaining about the possible damages artificial intelligence can bring to the world. There is no doubting this, no matter how good a technology is, if it falls in the wrong hands it will soon turn bad. If we want to say AI will only be capitalized from its good part then it is just us lying to ourselves. It has not yet reached its pinnacle of invention and we are seeing it applied in various fields to mislead the public.
One thing to note here is that Elon is an inventor and if he sees a possible negative explosion from this industry, I guess we should buy the idea. We have seen him also try to take advantage of this technology but he has been very slow and skeptical about it. I got recent information that Elon said he will not build his AI project in Tesla unless he is given a 25% voting share. Why does he want such shares power? Simple, he says he doesn't want his inventions to get into the wrong hands who will exploit the system to do lots of damage to humanity.
Can giving Elon Musk 25% voting shares solve the problem in case he builds this on Tesla? The first answer from my side is a question; how long will Elon live to defend these shares? Is he only planning for his personal safety or that of the world? If you feel you will create something very destructive, then don't just create it, forget entirely about the shares idea. I dont know if you are getting my own idea, when Elon is gone and probably those shares get shared to his next of kin we know assets will definitely change hands. It will be his next of kin not him and can decide to sell it off or buy the ideas investors have to offer. I see us playing with a technology that can enslave us.
To conclude, let me add, we need to be prepared for what is coming. We needed technology and its fast pace may lead to an invention that will overtake us. Several governments know about this but can't afford to be left behind in the assumed big thing. We continue to watch with hopes that we will not soon be in despair due to a massive adoption of AI.
