These are the conditions we had to work in today, for most of the morning anyway. We have adequate clothing for the job but our gloves get soaked and start to smell a bit when it rains day after day! I threw mine in the bin after my shift 🤢🫢
I'm only out in the rain for short moments anyway, when guiding the truck up to the aircraft or walking across the apron.
It turned out to be quite a busy day in the end, but at first glance at the job sheet it was easy. It doesn't always turn out as straight forward as you would like. We have started a new contract with a new customer. Taking the consignment of food etc to the aircraft we realised that there was not enough space to put it! No room for the cart! We had to wait for the outbound crew to arrive (about half an hour) so that they could decide what to keep and what to send back with us. To our embarrassment, there was an old cart on board. Our night shift had left it there by mistake. Being a new and unfamiliar job, we failed to notice this. 😄 They were very understanding I'm glad to say. 😅
