In every ecosystem and social setting, there is a hierarchy, and within these hierarchies, there are people with different levels of power and status. Being part the higher ups affords you certain privileges that downliners don’t have access to. And this is not unfair in any way. It’s a way of showing respect to the achieved, therefore a way to motivate and incentivize downlines to do better.
LeoFinance is a big part of the Hive ecosystem. Almost big enough to be called an ecosystem of it’s own. Because of this, there’s a caste system assorting us lions into classes based on the Leo Power we hold. The highest of the highest, the alphas hold the highest LP and are accorded the biggest respect, as it it in a pride.
Cubs are recognized Lions of the pride as well. This group hold at least 5k Leo Power and that really should accord them some recognition. They’ve staked $5000 worth of LEO in the 2018 bull run. It definitely will be worth more and will pay in the next bull run(which I’m sure we’re all hoping has started, looking at the recent greens in the market).
A higher form of cub is the recently launched thread squires! These are cubs, but not ordinary cubs as they have certain distinguishing features. Thread squires are cubs who made #myleogoals, are heavy threaders, are well versed in terms of the knowledge of the Hive ecosystem, active engagers on Twitter, and are active in other communities on Hive, including LeoFinance. You can find this description and more details of who a thread squire is in this post
Why would you want to be a thread squire?
- Well for one, there’s the fact that thread squires are cubs, and that cubs are recognized, respected and are eligible to enjoy certain privileges.
- Being a thread squire makes you an active contributor to the growth of the pride.
- You get recognition as a member of the LeoFinance Social Team.
- It puts you in an eligibility criteria for some of the exciting plans the Leo Team have in mind for 2023 regarding threads.
Being a LeoFinance Social Team Member Exalts You.
Even though everyone with a stake in LEO is involved in decision making to some extent, I believe Lions in the LeoFinance Social Team are more involved in decision making in terms of projects and exciting activities to hold in the pride.
Being part of the LeoFinance team also gives you exposure and publicity, factors success on Hive and LeoFinance rely on. Does the community know you? What are you known for?
Roles and Suggestions for threads
Threads is one of the most innovative features of LeoFinance and will pave way for a lot of growth. But a few things can be done to properly market threads and incentivize people to use it and build bigger Leo stakes.
Thread Checkmarks- Tapping into a bit of twitter’s advising.
Twitter is a big bad web 2 centralized [social media](. We all know that. But that doesn’t rule out the fact that to improve threads and give it better marketing, we can borrow a few pages from Twitter’s book.
One of the said things being the ✅official checkmark. A few weeks ago, I read about PeakD dispaying Twitter badges on Hivers who have their Twitter linked. This could be something like what I’m proposing. I’m not in anyway saying we should charge people for it. Well, maybe I am but not right now.
What I’m saying is that we can start issuing official checkmarks to Apex Lions in the pride for example. This wouldn’t be something difficult to do, and will incentivize Leaders Of The Pack to stake more of that LEO to get the precious checkmark! Most of us especially newbies don’t know who is who in the pride. Having an official Apex Lion
tag written next to a Lion’s username when they thread sure will be a great way to motivate everyone else to strive to reach that level of public identity. This is just one way to consider implementing this role addition.
Another way to implement this will be to issue the checkmarks to Hive whales who thread. Will it look a bit corny to see “✅whale” next to a whale’s username in threads? Maybe. Will it be a cool thing to see? Absolutely!
To incentivize Hive whales to buy and stake LEO, this could be a feature limited and available for only Lions. So that even a Hive whale who isn’t an APEX Lion in the pride doesn’t get a checkmark. I hope I don’t get cancelled for this lol.
These obviously will be met with the concern of decentralization as some people might feel like the checkmarks are attempts to centralize threads. Let’s not forget that decentralization still doesn’t make everyone equal. Decentralized as Hive is, people with the highest stake still influence rewards and decisions more (as clearly stated in the description of HP). So this wouldn’t pose a decentralization problem in my opinion. It would simply be a way to honor big stake holders according to how much they have staked.
Threads needs to get more fun
Most of twitter’s engagement comes from memes and humorous stuff. Everyone wants a good laugh and we know Twitter has all the memers and trolls.
Everyone today is a memer in one way or the other and even people that don’t call themselves memers at least smirk when they come across them. A lot of people on the other hand, like memes so much that they’ll go wherever to find them. Wherever is what we need to turn threads into. A limitless cloud of people’s needs, memes on the top of the list(among other things).
More people are going to come here searching for memes even if they’re not investors or want nothing to do with blogging. This is why I love the #gmfrenz thread tag blowing up. It’s not just a kind of a meme. It’s an NFT that rewards people for “meming” on the tag(as far as I know). Just wait until people hear they can earn on threads for meming.
What makes Threads unique and how do you utilize it effectively for monetization?
To put what makes Threads special and promising in short, threads has every bit of advantage that LeoFinance has over platforms like Twitter-Web 3, Decentralization, content and account ownership and monetization, Blockchain Technology, Censorship Resistance and Free Speech, LeoGlossary…You name it.
Threads will incentivize more people to buy and hold Hive Power since resource credits are what will be required to Thread. I think we all know what demand and supply dynamic balance shifts casues when there’s a high demand for a commodity in limited supply. This will mean serious numbers for Hive price as more users come on board and HP get’s even more scarce. Promise or not? You tell me.
Threads has so many use cases for monetization.
Promoting Hive Posts on threads
First case scenario is promoting our posts here on threads. This is not limited to only Lions. Even Hivers who are not Lions can thread links for their posts to boost exposure and chances of engagement on their posts.
Threads pay out in LEO
There’s also the fact that every thread you make can gain upvotes in the form of LEO. Even if you’re not a Lion, this is still monetization as you can use the LEO earned from your threads for whatever.
Advertisement Of In Real Life Products and Businesses.
You can post about your business and advertise here on threads just like people do on Twitter. I’m not seeing a lot of that here right now, but I’m positive people are well on the way of adopting threads for irl advertisements.
optimizing your threads to reach a wider audience
Right Use Of Tags
Even on threads, tags are still important. Using the right tags gives you exposure to the right audience, and since the success of a business heavily depends on marketing to the right people, more attention needs to be paid to what tags you’re using.
Like I already mentioned, no amount of writing can include all the awesomeness of LeoFinance and threads, but these are just a few things to be said. There’s actually a lot more to be said in this post, but I’m going to have to cut it short and maybe I’ll continue in a later post.
Not sure if my boys will see this in time, but I’m inviting @rubilu, @yahuzah, @zzzinnn and @gunu1 to check this out.
