Hello Splinterlands players, I hope you all are good today.
First of all, as usual, welcome to my Splinterlands Battle Mage Secret challenges, a weekly Splinterlands contest on sharing out our battles. This post theme is about Fire and Regret Ruleset, its an ability that gives everyone on the battle field a return fire ability.
This make a range units become weak, because they will get a bouncing damage towards them, although its half of the damage receive. So based on this condition, most people decide to go with magic focused line up.
Because the battle will be heavily relied on magic, anti magic summoners become more favorable. In this case the most favorite one is the Immortalis.
Immortalis gives all his team a void ability, making them more sturdy against magic attack. He gives a shatter ability too, which is very essential for this ruleset. Because of no range condition, some people prefer to use melee, and most melee units have some armor... Shatter ability is the right counter towards them.
So with those two condition, Definitely Immortalis is the ideal summoner and in most of my battle with Fire and Regret ruleset, I have Immortalis as my opponent summoner... The suck thing is that I do not have him
THE BATTLE PREPARATION
Ok let's get a battle with a Fire and Regret ruleset. I got this one from a Wild Diamond League. I was playing on wild League because I just rent some Gold Foil Wild for Brawl, and Wild Diamond gave me more GLINT point than Modern. I needed more Glint to get some soulbound which I hadn't got yet.
When I saw that ruleset, I definitely knew for sure, I would meet Immortalis for sure. Its 100% guaranteed, due to that Armored Up ruleset. So here was what happened next
THE BATTLE PROGRESS
As expected before, It's an Immortalis. So what were the difference between my and their teams?
- My opponents expected I came with some Opportunity Melee units. they brought two martyrs, and I thought its a good move... Return Fire would kill that two martyrs faster too.
- My team was relying on 3 units, Regal Peryton-Mushroom Sheer-Goblin Psychic. I used multiple tanks, from Slipspawn, Flesh Golem and Failed Summoner.
let see how this would go...
- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. Immortalis -1 health was really annoying, making my Flesh Golem unable to recover +3 heatlh due to lacking 1 more health.
- My opponent came with 2 melee damage, 2 range damage and 2 magic damage. It's a combined 6 damage per round. Its very small one, I hoped this would be the blunder that caused them a lose.
- My team had 3 melee damage and 12 magic damage, making them a combined 15 per round. A good number, I should win this battle if they did not have that void abilities from Immortalis.
- No body died in the first round, however this time their Terraceous Grunt did not survive this round.
- Its 4 vs 6 now... One of their martyr died and buff up that gorrila... Endless Ape
- That Endless Ape was very sturdy, he withstood a whole round very well... However he died in this round.
- Round 5 looked bad for their side, 2 vs 5. I believed I had secured my win in this battle.
- Round 6 was the last round, Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
Actually both of us had a very weird line up, and thanks to that irregularity, we managed to climb up onto Diamond League with lousy line up. It would be easy to say that I won because I had one level higher than my opponent, however that kind of excuse means nothing in current format. Level doesn't matter at all.. So here are points we can take from this battle:
- Too low damage per round kills you. No matter how strong you are, if you hit like a little girl, you will get killed first before you kill someone. My opponent came with 6 damage per round, eat that!!!
- The second one is buff debuff and status ailment. The reason I won because I had the right debuff and status ailment... Silence from Mushroom Seer and Affliction from Goblin Psychic. those two could stand up againt Immortalis ability, while their side did not add more debuff or buff.
- Wrong Meta. My opponent gamble big on those two Martyrs... which was a big failure due to no sniper or opportunist in my line up.
