A couple of days ago my friend Ronald helped me with an assignment for my photography class, for this we did a role reversal, he lent me his camera and let me be the photographer and meanwhile, he was my model. For my class I had to send the photos unedited, but I wanted to do it, so I decided to play with them a little bit and what you will see below is the result.
Hace un par de día mi amigo Ronald me ayudo con una tarea para mi clase de fotografía, para esto hicimos un cambio de roles, él me prestó su cámara y me dejo ser la fotógrafa y mientras, él fue mi modelo. Para mi clase debía enviar las fotos sin editar, pero me quedé con las ganas de hacerlo, así que decidí jugar con ellas un poco y lo que verán a continuación es el resultado.

Lucky for me, Ronald has green eyes, and I say lucky for me because I had to take a detail photo of him of some part of his face and I immediately knew I had to take advantage of the color of his eyes and how bushy his eyebrows are, in fact, I'd say it's my favorite picture.
Por suerte para mi, Ronald tiene ojos verdes, y digo suerte para mi porque debía tomar una foto detalle de él de alguna parte de su rostro y de inmediato supe que debía aprovechar el color de sus ojos y lo poblada de sus cejas, de hecho, diría que es mi fotografía favorita.

I met Ronald thanks to the world of photography, and now after more than three years thanks to this task I was able to understand a little more about his way of seeing things, and I think I could say that also that of photographers in general. It is not the same to observe as to feel observed. I remember the first time we did a session where I was the model I felt a little insecure because I didn't see myself and I didn't know if I was posing well or badly, with time I started to feel more confident about it. Being the person behind the camera was very different, since I could see everything I was sure that I did not love the pictures I had taken, and not because of the model hahahaha but because I did not feel that they had that special something that only good photographers can give to their photos. However, after a few more pictures there were some that I really liked a lot, and that's exactly why I wanted to edit them and show them to you, besides, people get better with practice, don't they?
Conocí a Ronald gracias al mundo de la fotografía, y ahora luego de más tres años gracias a esta tarea pude comprender un poco más sobre su forma de ver las cosas, y creo que podría decir que también la de los fotógrafos en general. No es lo mismo observar a sentirte observado. Recuerdo que la primera vez que hicimos una sesión en donde yo era la modelo sentí un poco de inseguridad porque no me veía a mi misma y no sabía si estaba posando bien o mal, con el tiempo fue que me empecé a sentir más segura al respecto. Siendo yo la persona detrás de la cámara fue muy distinto, ya que al poder ver todo estaba segura de que no me encantaban las fotos que había tomado, y no por el modelo jajajj si no por que no sentía que tuvieran ese algo especial que sólo los buenos fotógrafos le pueden dar a sus fotos. Sin embargo, luego de unas cuantas fotos más hubieron algunas que en realidad me gustaron bastante, y es justo por esa razón que quise editarlas y mostrárselas, además, la gente mejora es con la práctica ¿no es cierto?

At the end of the day it was something that I did enjoy and I feel that my main objective was accomplished which was to learn. I don't know if I would do something like this outside of college, honestly I would rather focus on other areas of my career but you never know when you need to know certain things so if in the future I get to do something like this again I would be happy to.
Al final del día fue algo que si disfruté y siento que mi objetivo principal si se cumplió el cual era aprender. No sé si haría algo así fuera de la universidad, honestamente preferiría centrarme en otras áreas de mi carrera pero uno nunca sabe cuando necesita saber ciertas cosas así que si que si en el futuro me toca hacer algo como esto otra vez lo haré con mucho gusto.
