Hello , Hi , Namastey to all hive users reaching this post , hope you all are doing great 👍. Here I am participating in the contest by @diyhub . Today I am going to make something different using clay only. Some of you might be wondering what's different, because some would be knowing that I have used clay before. The difference is that this time, I've made the clay myself at home, and it's budget-friendly.
Now let me tell you how I prepared this clay and the story behind it.
You might be thinking that buying clay from the market is easier, than why I am making this at home. Market clay often costs around ₹25 for a small amount, which may not be sufficient. In contrast, making clay at home using wall putty (around ₹25-30 per kg) and glue (around ₹30-40) can be a more cost-effective option, with a total cost of under ₹100 for a larger quantity of clay. This homemade solution can provide a much larger amount of clay compared to buying it from the market for the same price. Personally I do feel that if you can get the same thing in a lower price than the market you should definitely go for that. 😉
The clay is made from just three simple ingredients: wall putty( wall filler), white glue, and water.
Take a little amount of wall putty in a container ( I took a old bowl that was available at my home , you can take a plastic container too).
Add 1/3 amount Fevicol in it and start mixing it by adding water. Remember not to make the texture liquidy, you have to make it solid.
For the process of mixing you can use a stick at first but when you start realising, the structure starting to be together then you have to use your hands too. Its a little messy but yes you can do it for sure . 😃
Do wash your hands as soon as it is prepared. Remember to apply some powder in the base of it .
Here your clay is ready ,lets come to the next part . That is making the shape of the holder.
I didn't decided to make a holder while I was making this clay , this was my first time I was trying to make it and I was successful at that. So I suddenly rememberd that I can make a brush holder using it, we all do have a stand at home but that's too big and that can be utilised when you are not using your brushes. But the major issue which I face while painting is that I do many brushes but but after applying colour in each I I have to find place to put those brushes, after finding the place too the problem is that the colour gets transfer in the surface to.
Making this shape was quite easy, you have to just make a round or oval shape using the clay and make a little hole in it.
Let it dry overnight and then next day colour it with white colour.
Then you can start your designing here , I simply started making design's of mandala dot art .
At first it was looking quite bad 😅.
I coloured the back and a little upper portion using black colour .
After making this pattern it started looking good.
And here it was completed.
(Please ignore the condition of those brushes , have to buy new ones soon 😅)
Hope you liked it , thank you 😁
