Wookiefoot?
That's a strange name...
You may think of Chewbacca from Star Wars, but it's actually a very cool band.
Let me tell you why.
Have you ever heard meaningless pop songs (or of any music gender) that are plain and have a very dull message or no message at all? Well... This NOT the case with Wookiefoot every song has a message and a purpose along with awesome rhythm and are very fun to sing and to dance.
Their latest album: You're It (2015) you can find it here http://wookiefoot.com/
You can also find them in Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4qD6ABoI7PKjZCdTYodIaH
And their Official YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/wookiefootmark
Their album Ready or Not (2012), I discovered them with a song form this great album called: Just Visiting
They have a celtic style with a reggae rock fusion. The use a lot of bagpipes and wind instruments. I have not seen them live because I live in Mexico but I plan to see them soon, but I've seen that their shows are like a circus performance and they have all sorts of guys and gals doing cool stunts.
The message behind every song is inspiring
They have a pretty optimistic and cool message behind every song. They talk about love, compassion, the sense of fulfillment and how material things are not the most important things in life. The borrow many famous but deep quotes from many inspiring sources. The succeed on delivering a message of hope and peace.
These are some powerful quotes on their lyrics, along with the link to the song:
- Be Fearless and Play!
- "...and sometimes you'll find yourself adrift, and sometimes you'll be adrift and find yourself..."
- "...we may not have it all together, but together we can have it all..."
- "...if you're going through hell don't stop..."
- "...worry will not take away your trouble tomorrow, only take away your peace today..."
Also they have a great cause: BTC. And no, it's not Bitcoin. It is called Be The Change. It is a non-profit charitable organization and they have worked with other great artists like Nahko, Trevor Hall, Xavier Rudd, Matisyahu and many more. (I am also a great fan of all of them).
