I woke up this morning, just vibing to three of my favourite tunes. Itβs that time again,Triple Tunes Tuesday! π§π three songs, three vibes, one amazing playlist! Today, I'm jamming to, no, not jamming today, Iβm actually taking it slow and smooth with the legendary Don Williams, the Gentle Giant of country music. I have forever been in love with his pure and magical voice, and his songs hit differently every time I listen to them. I grew up listening to him and his music always feel like home.
So this week, let's celebrate his legacy with these three timeless classics, the Cowboy way;
π΅ You're My Best Friend
π΅ Some Broken Hearts Never Mend
π΅ Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good
"You're My Best Friend" is a song about love, friendship, and unwavering devotion. It also celebrates the value of family and matrimony, and his partner who has given him all the right reasons to keep loving and living. He made very powerful statements in the lyrics of this powerful song!
"Some Broken Hearts Never Mend" is a bittersweet tune that reminds us of the pain that love could inflict, and then of loosing and of moving on.
It was first recorded by Don Williams in 1977 for his album "Visions," but it quickly became a hit on the country music charts and reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
"Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good" It became a prayer for me, a heartfelt prayer wrapped in a melody that speaks to the soul. My request was always for the simple pleasures of life and for God to always come through for me.
I will never forget that he has one of the smoothest vocals I've ever heard, and though he's gone now, I will always remember that Don Williams enjoyed great longevity on country radio, simply by his tasteful and excellent songs. I remain a die-hard fan!
Rest On My Mellow Country Cowboy!
