I have been nominated by a good friend for a Challenge Not Challenge or as I like to call them, a Not-So-Challenge. It is great to hear from him, I am ashamed to say I may have failed to take the time to read his amazing posts lately.
First off, I will react to the pick from his entry, Lorelei by the Cocteau Twins.
It is always nice to discover a new alternative sound. I rather like it, it has a lot of soul but perhaps I would require a remix with a baseline to put it on my playlist.
I feel like it's a great song to start the day, there is a lot of optimism for a song in minor key which means that it has a cuteness about the harmony, looking to the future. The sound is ethereal, the vocals sultry yet confident. A great song to get in touch with yourself and just check in.
Anything that makes me think about @stortebeker is a gift, I like to think of him listening to this song going about his daily activities, he really is a nice guy.
I took this image while jogging today, I thought I would use it in the aesthetic of this post to give it a West Coast flavour.
This is a Vancouver Special, built at a time when people wanted to save money by not investing in a basement. Strangely, a thorough renovation would absolutely turn these houses into heritage homes; at least in my book! They may not look like much but they say something about an entire era of affordable housing in this city.
If you workout, you are periodically looking for a fresh take on the classic Amadeus because it is filled with the urgency that something needs to be completed. An effort must be made pronto. Gains must be on the table, there is no going back. Let's go big or go home!
A sprinkle of 80s synths, drumkits and vocals will ironically make anything feel brand new this spring. It is not the most adrenalin inducing remix of this song and goes the route of grooviness instead.
The Sorry Entertainer is one of the few stars for which I have boundless admiration. While a lot of his content is cheesy which can limit the taste level, he also produces underground and urban mixes. His greatest moments are perhaps when he gives an electronic vibe to an obscure folk song. He can bring Hip-Hop to a varied selection like no other which is a source of pride for the DJ.

It made me think of a song by Ladytron which itself brings memories me of a one-night stand who took a polaroid of a younger me. Men are jerks and we need to be constantly reminded of our tendency to objectify EVERYTHING!
Let’s keep being authentic and increase the shelf life of our sex appeal by extending our criteria for beauty!
I want to give a shout out to @mipiano for encouraging me to partake, check out her solid entry. Very hard indeed to argue with Bach, I would say he's a classic but he is way too romantic for that ;)
If you are interested in participating in this Challenge Not Challenge, originally brought to you by @edje, here are some guidelines to get you started:

Just like the friend who nominated me, I would be curious to hear @riverflows pick!
@ancolie I want to hear more about your taste in music, especially a french song!
@inber has been around for quite a while and recently became active again, I wonder what she listens to while painting her delightful images.
I feel good about today’s bounty. All this tagging each other can only strengthen our bonds and make us experience a sense of purpose on this chain.
As always, thank you for dropping by, take care of yourself and let the power of music lift you up.
