Hey dear community, as always I hope you are all doing well and you had a pleasant week! In my new post I would like to share a special experience with you which I made in Switzerland.
During my time in Switzerland, I was able to make some unique experiences and one of them was my visit to Zug which is also known as Crypto Valley. Zug has also much more to offer like a rich culture and of course the area directly on the lake and not far from mountains is just a dream. There are many historical things which I have also visited, but this article should specifically deal with the aspects and backgrounds why exactly here the Crypto Valley stands. In any case, it can be of great advantage for every visitor to the city to combine the visit and to get to know also other aspects of the city in addition to the Valley.
In the middle of this idyllic landscape and small town with about 30000 inhabitants lies the centre of blockchain technology and over 1000 companies are located in this area and among them are partly also well-known names such as Ethereum or other large names. Even for smaller companies, Zug is often a good choice because many advantages are offered here and in general, it can be said that Switzerland is much more open in many aspects than other countries, which makes it extremely lucrative from a regulatory point of view. In Zug, the entire crypto sector has developed very well and many businesses accept cryptocurrencies here and it's probably unique that it's even possible to pay costs such as the municipality of the city with it through this adoption. In the entire canton, almost half of all blockchain companies registered there are located directly in Zug and also from a financial point of view extremely large trade volumes are registered here and important for these developments are probably also the formation of associations that have focussed on the promotion.
Roughly speaking, it can be said that it has developed into a flourishing centre of crypto culture and this area is very proud to be a leader in this area and I am just as proud to have had this experience and I have gone to the bottom of the history of the Valley and visited all the most important hotspots of the city. It's a must for every crypto enthusiast to travel here and of course this excursion should definitely be combined with the other diverse side of Swiss culture! I arrived there early in the morning and decided to do the Crypto Tour which in various stations sheds light on the entire history of the origin in more detail and during the tour, I came to different addresses where crypto history was written.
The tour starts from Aabachstrasse 5 to Artherstrasse 4 and in total there are 15 stations which are visited during the tour but there are no texts at the places themselves that explain everything in more detail and it's more of a self-guided tour. All stations can be seen on the website of the Valley here and as soon as someone has arrived at a point, it is enough to click on the title and another tab opens with a more detailed description and shows why this place is so important. The stations are relatively close to each other, but it can only be an advantage to explore the route a little more closely beforehand or to inform yourself online and in the best case someone uses an application for navigation.
Among other things, the tour also leads to the foundation of Ethereum, which has developed into one of the most important blockchains and even it cannot be suspected, this leading blockchain is inconspicuously hidden in one of these small buildings, which is probably one of the highlights of the tour. I also found the explanations of the community’s role in the development very exciting and the tour takes you not only through the history of the Valley, but also through this unique place and connects the Blockchain sector with a diverse culture and nature all around. The tour lasted about two hours and then I also visited other important aspects of the city which I may describe in the future and as already mentioned above, I would like to recommend every blockchain friend to visit this important place and maybe I could also reach people who do not yet know the Valley.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about this place! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens and iPhone 16.
