It was raining this morning with the mist clinging in the air. It wasn't fit to go walking but who can resist a misty walk in the forest?
On the way, driving was a bit difficult in parts as visibility wasn't very good. Entering the forest, it was really quiet I couldn't see too far down the footpath.
Through the mist there was little pockets of yellow leaves shining through and red berries on the floor.
I decided to do a circular walk. It's not a long walk but I always find it interesting. There is a campsite nearby so you get to chat with a few holiday makers or just local people walking their dogs.
The damp weather is still bringing out the fungi. They just seem to appear overnight as it is still very wet in the forest. You can smell the damp, earthy smell of the leaves underfoot.
Emerging out of the forest, the rolling mist could be seen in the distance. Having an early morning walk sets you up for the rest of the day. You can go home feeling you've achieved something by doing some exercise ...
.... and then sitting down for the rest of the day with a packet of biscuits!
