Last Wednesday, January 4, 2023, was the second day of the enrolment period and the planned date for me to gather the units I need. I already finished my bachelor’s degree in 2019, and after one year had passed, I knew that I missed the vibe of getting to school, reading and listening to lessons, and doing activity work. I self-studied last year and now need to take action, so from 2023 until 2026 I will again pursue my studies, taking the chance of passing two exams this year; that’s my goal. Some people say that’s for the rich, and I disagree. I am no rich person, but I will finish it no matter what.
What’s amazed me is that I paid 50% of the tuition from blogging in Hive, which gives me opportunities now to thank the people who always support my writing.
I prepared myself at 8 AM on a rainy morning for the entire week already, not a good start for the new year for those who planned holidays that didn’t get goods because the rain became a hindrance to the fun. The university quite near to my place, just 20 minutes drive in single motorcycle and half to hours when commute, I choose to commute for the rain drops heavily not good the risk as I holds my papers with me, might get soaked or I might not be welcomes in the University if ever.
The price of gasoline and all the inflation shocked me with my fair fee, I wished I just rode my motorcycle; regrets in my last.
Do you have the feeling of acting as if you were familiar with the buildings even though you know you are not? That was me, just looking at the tags of the building to determine where to go and what to do. I walked in the alleyway, a lot of students didn’t give any care to other people, some just minding their own business on their phones. Until I reach the room with the "registrar" tag on it. I was in line when one woman asked the registrar officers for the same course units I need, I saw the man also go to other personnel and then come back.
I didn’t hear their conversation, but the woman just nodded. I decided to approach her. She said what the man had said, and I also said that I would enroll in the same units as her. We agreed to just walk and join each other. I liked the idea that at least I have now made some new friends and may have some new classmates.
The transaction was easy, as she took the first action, and I was just the silent guy in the back. I listening to the instructions of the attendant, and they gave me the sheet of personal information. I received the sheet and chose to pull myself over and go outside to fill out my information. They just asked simple vitae as name, my family member and the previous university I been trough.
It took me a couple of minutes, and I finally saw them tag my paper "enrolled." That was quick, as I said, and well thanks to the strangers whom I met for she made the appointment with my name as well, and it hasn't become boring as I have someone whom I talked with.
The next problem was the identity card; an error had been made because the note after I went to the accounting office says they must add the ID fee, but they didn’t. We were worried that they might not accommodate us, for we haven’t paid the ID transaction yet. The university is known to be strict with student cards, so if we didn't make the effort to pay it, surely the first day of class will be messed up. Lucky for her, she was vocal and could talk to the teachers in charge, and they accommodated her, though I don’t know if they saw that student sheet that we had, which didn’t include the ID in the fees. It still took just 10 minutes, and the ID card had been issued. Thanks to the fast online transaction they had.
AFTER ENROLLMENT
As I walked home, I spotted someone whom I thought I knew. And yeah, my beautiful cousin is there too, I approach her. We agreed to take just the two of us to lunch. Of curse, they split the bills, which I loved.
She was craving some seafood soup, as the weeks of rain and the occasions from Christmas and the New Year focused on meats, I also agreed.
We just talked and shared stories with each other until we finished the food. Maybe for another foodie blog soon what was the experience in it.
We said goodbye after the meal, she had some appointments too, and I chose to chill and enjoy first getting a date with my own in the mall. I was just looking to see if I could have something to buy or not.
It was 3:30 when I decided to go home. It was rainy as usual. Just looking at the people who are also eager to go home It was 4:46 when I reached home. My parents asked where I had been, as I remember, I forgot to tell them that I had gone to school for enrolment, so they thought I was just around.
Well, it made me smile, and the entire day I wear the ID, I don’t know, but I am excited, partially disappointed by the schedule that I have for It will end at 8 p.m. soon, its fine and manageable for sure.
How about you? How was Wednesday for you.
