We have progressed a lot in life nowadays. There are some things that can change our lives.
We all waste a lot of food items at weddings, functions, parties, and hotels.
We leave a lot of food that is thrown away. Similarly, in homes too,
we generally throw food and other useless items in the same dustbin.
We all have to take our steps towards cleanliness, and we have to try to keep our earth as green as possible.
We should keep our city clean and plant trees everywhere. Yes, take care of the environment and take full care of cleanliness.
In today's world, making compost from kitchen waste is also a very good idea. Due to this, one does not spread the dirt by throwing the garbage here and there.
Secondly, it provides natural fertilizer for your plants, which is not harmful to the body at all. Every day in urban areas, a person throws away 1 kg of solid waste.
If there are four people living in your house, then imagine that your family throws about 1500 kg of solid waste every year.
We also make useless from that food by mixing it with things like paper, plastic, iron, etc. It is our duty to keep the environment safe and clean in our own strength.
To make our environment clean, we must first take action.
We can make compost from this leftover food and garbage.
I have read about this in many magazines and have heard from many people that we can
make compost manure from leftover food and waste materials and use it for our kitchen
gardens and fields.
I want to share the details of the composting of home waste with this community .
Composting is a process in which organic or inorganic matter or food waste is converted into compost by microorganisms with the help of water and air.
This manure is good only for plants growing at home or in the fields, and because it does not contain any kind of chemical substance, it is beneficial for the health of our soil.
It is very important to have four things for composting. You can make natural compost from that waste at home.
Dry leaves, dust, soil, paper, etc. With the help of these, carbon is available.
Nitrogen is obtained from leftover fruit and vegetable waste.
And from our atmosphere, oxygen gets
The right amount of water so that the garbage made by mixing the above three things can rot.
Simple steps to make compost from your kitchen waste
Keep wet waste from your kitchen, like left-over vegetables and food waste, in separate bins.
Leftover food, Vegetable and fruit waste, used tea leaves, flowers, Small pieces of grass Egg shells
Place dried leaves and solid grime in a small aluminium trash can.
Dry brown things contain high amounts of carbon.
Dry leaves
wood powder
light dust
Chaff or paddy husk
Take a big plastic tub or an earthen pot. If you want, you can also dig a small pit in any part of the house, which is called a compost pit.
After that, make 4-5 holes in the four sides of that pot so that air can get into the garbage it holds.
Now spread some soil at the bottom of this pot. After that, put the wet and dry waste in that pot in little layers, one after the other.
When the pot is filled with layers of both dry and wet waste, cover it with a plastic or wooden lid. Covering keeps moisture or wetness inside the pot.
Keep watching in a few days. If the mixture inside the container is too dry, sprinkle water lightly with your hands and cover the plastic again.
After 2-3 months, dry composting will start automatically. which is dark brown and black in appearance, and there is an earthy fragrance to it.
Do not mix the following things in the dustbin to make compost:
It smells like one or two-day old food waste, meat and bones, animal faces.
chemicals, batteries, sick plants, medicines, plastic bags, or polythene.
