One thing about technology is that it has made everything very possible. Many people don't even need to go to a physical class before learning a skill or a course, but which one do I prefer? I will be sharing my experience with you all, and at the end, you will understand my choice.
I remember in 2023, when I wanted to start my Product Design Management class. I had the option of choosing between doing it online or in a physical class. Back then, taking this course online was the best option because I was working, and I could always take my time to study my course anytime, but my best friend was like, There is no need for us to take the online class since there is a Saturday physical class. We could always use the opportunity to go out and have fun, which I bought into the idea.
We started, and in 5 months, I was able to finish the course and do my project, and everything went well.
In 2024, my online class started. I began with a course on Coursera. I wanted to study digital marketing. At first, I was excited about this and felt I would be able to do it easily since I work from home, and most of my job is done on my laptop. I enrolled in this course, which was meant to last for two months, but I spent more than four months before I was able to finish it because whenever I opened my laptop to study, my attention was always divided, and I found myself doing something else.
In 2025, I enrolled in another virtual class. This time I downloaded all the tutorials, PDF files, and tools to be needed to get my class done. The funny part is that I understand the course and everything but I haven't been able to get one assignment done. I don't know if it's because I am always occupied or I am just lazy at studying virtually.
This course has been on my laptop since January, and now I feel like a bad student because I haven't even gone past the first curriculum.
For now, I would prefer to take a physical class course because I feel I would be more serious, especially when I see other people putting in their best, like I am doing. I am not saying virtual class is bad; everyone has a different level of concentration and what's going on in their lives, which can determine how they handle this class, but for now, I would rather attend a physical class than an online class.
