Today marks my Hive anniversary or Hive birthday if you wish. Wow 7 years have already passed and i can officially say i can be considered as a veteran in this place. I had no clue that today was my Hive birthday, @hivebuzz reminded me as you can see from the screenshot above. When i read the comment i immediately thought of all these years here with the ups and downs as well as my whole Hive journey and story.
Below i will tell you a bit more in detail about my Hive story, a general view of my total earnings so far and ofc i will share my future goal. I hope that you can stay with me until the end, or you can simply enjoy your dinner and use the AI mode to listen to it instead of reading!
My Story in fast forward Mode
I think my story or to be more accurate my beginning can be something that if someone who has second doubts about Hive, after reading it, can easily sign up and earn some sweet regards. I keep hearing that people may not believe in Hive even before joining due to the APR rewards or in general the "simple" reward aspect.
I was one of them 7 years ago and back then the APR in HBD was a far dream. Also, there was no Hive, back then only Steemit existed. So as a younger and beautiful guy i was searching around the net trying to find ways to earn money without investing a single dollar out of my pocket.
Not because i was afraid of the risks but because i literally had no money to invest in first place. Also, most of what i had discovered through my search, were mlm scams, platforms with small tasks that would reward me with a couple of cents, and survey sites that would also reward me with close to nothing.
The other option was freelance work from sites like Upwork but thousands of people already doing it, people more skillful than i was and with actual reviews. Thus, my chances were quite low and even if i started my rate would have been close to nothing. It was easier just go and work on a cafeteria or something.
This is when i found Steemit/Hive, a place where based on what i was reading back then, i could write anything i wanted to and earn money. I could not understand the tokenomics and tech exactly but i could not believe that with zero investment i could create my own blog let's say and start earning right away.
I was so doubtful that for around 3-4 months i had the page open and was looking at it everyday without creating an account. I thought that it was some kind of scam and that i would lose anything. Then as the meme says i just did it and signed up. I created my first intro post and everything else came naturally. Up until now i have created around 800 posts, most of which are over 500 words!
I interacted and met many awesome people, some of them are still here some others moved on, but i cherished every day and even though due to work i was inactive for many months each year, i was kept coming back. I even used this place to learn crypto news instead of searching the web!
Total Earnings
Now let's talk about money. To tell you the truth you won't get rich through Hive but you can earn a decent amount if you work hard and if Hive is here for the next 10-20 years and maybe its price goes up a bit, some people can make quite an amount.
Due to my work, i didn't and don't have the time i want to invest in Hive. That is a bit of a disadvantage as without interaction you won't get to know a lot of people and thus you won't get a lot of upvotes even if your content is great. Currently, i hold around 7800 Hive and 2200 HBD. Given these numbers and the current market prices let's say the account value is 4500$.
Not a big amount, it may only be quite an amount if you are based in a third-world country. In my country, i can earn that amount in round 6 months, so it's not much for me but it's something i mostly managed to get by investing my time! Also back in the steemit era i have earned around 2k more which i used to travel abroad and make my dream travel come true! Thus, i am quite happy so far.
When i was more active in Hive, posting and commenting daily i used to earn around 200$-300$ based on the prices back then per month. This was quite an amount for me and i hope to achieve at least this one day. Interaction is the key i would say and decent content, so keep that at least!
2024 Goals
I think i have already written a lot and may have bored you. My goals are quite simple and straightforward and already mentioned them in other posts. Basically, i want to manage by the end of 2024 to have 10k of staked Hive, 15k of Staked LEO, 3000 HBD, 100 BRO. Also, i would like to obtain 2 more silver coins!
Finally, i want to do something to make Hive a better place or create something on Hive. This is something i am thinking about for a while now, but firstly i don't have the time and means to do that. Maybe i will manage to do something maybe not!
Conclusion
All in all i think that Hive is underrated and everyone including me should do something about it with what we can ofc. There are people who actually do something big like @acidyo with his upcoming game for example if it succeeds a lot of new people will come or even hear Hive. I believe in this place so much and it's one of the few places that you can literally earn by only investing time. This doesn't happen almost anywhere in the crypto world. I hope to be around for 10-20 more years and grow together with everyone here. Also, i hope that Hive gets its rightful place as one of the top crypto out there!
