Hello brethren,
May the peace of God be with you all.
I am excited to share with you the word of God today.
Bellow are a few lessons I learnt from the Bible exposition that was held via zoom.
Question: Are there Apostles and Prophets in the Church?
God chose only twelve apostles in the Bible.
According to the bible, Apostle Paul said he and Barnabas are the last Apostles.
1 Corinthians 4:9
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
The Apostle Paul and Barnabas were appointed to be Apostles for the gentiles.
Ephesians 4:11
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
The gift were given to the first century church.
There were people in Corinth who presented themselves as Apostles and what did Paul say about them.
2 Corinthians 11:13
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
The Apostles chosen by Christ have powers.
Mathew 10:1
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
The Apostle chosen by God have power to resurrect the dead.
Many people claim the are apostles but don't have the power to even heal or resurrect the dead.
Prophets, Teachers, Evangelist can be found in the church But the office of apostles were limited to the last Apostle thus, Paul and Barnabas.
The proof is that, their names were written in the foundation of the wall of the city.
Revelation 21:14
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
The office of the apostles is not opened to everyone. But the other gifts are opened to everyone.
After God had sent the apostles, he send another people who were not apostles.
Mathew 23:34.
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Question: Does the prophets have the same power.
It is wrong to say the twelve apostles don't have the same powers.
Luke 9:1
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
The apostles were given power to heal and preach. It is a commandment given them so they did what what they were asked to do. That is why their names were written inside the court.
To think that most of them did not use their power it's not true.
The definition of apostle is not the sent.
Because everyone is sent.
Apostle were men sent with exclusive power.
Projects and Evangelist were also sent but the apostles had power given to them by Christ.
Thanks be to God.
