Hello Hiveans, Happy Sunday, it's the last day of the weekend, and by tomorrow, we all resume to our various duties. It's my first time posting here in this community, I hope you enjoy the read.
Today is the 14th day of April, and also the 14th day of the #aprilinleo challenge, and for today, the prompt is:
Dreams, Sleep health, Fantasy worlds
A healthy sleeping habit is necessary for one to function optimally, I'm sure everyone can attest to this. You cannot decide to cheat nature and then expect all to go well. I'm sure we've all had those days when we slept really late and had to still wake up early, I for one would really feel grumpy and tired because the night time that was meant to help my body rest and re-energize for the next day was used in doing something else that wasn't in support of resting.
Maintaining a good sleep health doesn't just have to do with having a good sleeping schedule, but encompasses much more, for instance creating a good bedtime routine, reducing screen exposure before bedtime, creating a relaxing and comfy sleeping environment, ensuring that you take light meals and reduced caffeine intake can really improve the quality of sleep you get, making you have a very restful and relaxing sleep.
I might not meet all of these expectations as regarding my sleep, but one thing I don't take for granted is ensuring that I create a comfortable sleeping environment.
When I talk about a comfortable sleeping environment, I don't mean the fancy stuffs we adorn our bedrooms with, no that's not what I'm talking about, although they are important, but creating a comfortable sleeping environment has to do with using the right mattress, keeping your sleeping space tidy and neat, controlling the noise and light around your sleeping space, all these enhances the quality of your sleep at night.
I'm also trying to put in place a sleep schedule, but I haven't had much success with that one, there's a friend of mine who maintains one, once it's 10pm, he's off to bed, but as for yours truly I could be awake up until 12am most nights, I think I would have to ask my friend for tips on how he maintains his sleep schedule, and I would actually have to take the scheduling something seriously if it should work.
A beautiful sleep also has an effect on the type of dreams you have, I can't say for a fact, but I think it's true to an extent.
Sleep deprivation might lead to a whole lot of health issues that would have been avoided by just sleeping. Some of these health issues include: a weakened immune system, mood disorders, and could pose an increased risk to diseases like heart diseases, obesity and the likes.
Dreams are where our minds develop wings to fly, it's where the limitations of reality doesn't exist, it's lala land, where we can be who we want, what we want or even be in places we want. With dreams our abilities are endless, we could explore as much as we want and not want to return back to earth.
But the thing about dreams are they always come to an end, no matter how real they felt while they lasted, once we open our eyes they come to an end, for some persons it really hurts, I can imagine dreaming of swimming in wealth, living in a luxurious house, having the latest rides, having whatever you want at your disposal, and then you wake up and boom!!! you realize it was only a dream, how would you feel??
So yeah dreams are a product of our sleep.
What are your sleeping patterns like, how do you maintain a good sleep health, or are you struggling like me, if you are, I pray we do better.
This is my entry to the #aprinleo challenge for day 14, if you haven't joined in, this is a reminder wait no more, because it gets interesting as the days go by with beautiful prompts we have to explore everyday. To find more information about the challenge, you can read it up here
