Greetings friends. The other day, going through posts, I came across a very nice post by the author @mavilan30. She made a little Bulma in Cold ceramic and seeing it I simply felt inspired by the nice job she had done.
I remembered the Dragon Ball collection I had and how neglected I had it. Although I had already made a Bulma figurine, the truth is that, in retrospect, I didn't like the final result of that figurine. So when I saw Mavilan30's figurine, I told myself that I had to make another Bulma sculpture and this time I wanted it to look the way I wanted.

Saludos amigos. El otro día, mientras revisaba publicaciones, me encontré con una muy bonita publicación de la autora @mavilan30. Ella hizo una pequeña Bulma en cerámica Fría y al verla simplemente me sentí inspirado por el buen trabajo que ella había hecho.
Recordé la colección que yo llevaba de Dragon Ball y lo abandonada que la tenía. Aunque ya había hecho una figurita de Bulma, la verdad es que, en retrospectiva, el resultado final de esa figurita no me gustó. Así que al ver la figurita de Mavilan30, me dije que debía volver a hacer otra escultura de Bulma y que esta vez me quedase como yo quería.

Step by step
The materials I used for this work were the following:
- Colored play dough
- Wire
- Glue
- Wooden stick
- Tools such as cutter, pliers, needles.
The plasticine I started with was the pink one. I would use this one for Bulma's dress, a short one but covering almost all of her body.
Paso a paso
Los materiales que utilicé para este trabajo fueron los siguientes:
- Plastilinas de colores
- Alambre
- Pegamento
- Palillo de madera
- Herramientas como Cutter, Alicate, Agujas
La plastilina con la que comencé todo fue con la rosada. Esta la utilizaría para el vestidito de bulma, uno corto pero que cubre casi la totalidad de su cuerpo.
It is a delicate piece, with a lot of detail, so you have to pay attention to all the folds and lines that are necessary for it to have the appearance of real fabric.
Notice that it looks like a dress made of thin fabric, as her breasts are marked and she has several pleats over there. In addition, I made a “ditch” at the waist for the belt and a hole in the skirt, so that I could place the legs there.
Es una pieza delicada, con mucho detalle, así que hay que prestar atención a todos los pliegues y líneas que son necesarios para que tenga la apariencia de tela de verdad.
Fíjense que parece un vestido de tela delgada, ya que se marcan sus senos y tiene varios pliegues por allí. Además, le hice una "zanja" en la cintura para el cinturón y un hueco en la parte de la falda, para poder colocar allí las piernas.
After making the body, I continued with the shoes and the legs themselves. Notice that I did the blue shoes in parts. First I started with the white part of them, as you can see in the picture below, on the left. They are those parts that look like slippers, further up in the same picture you can see the blue part of the shoe.
In the image on the right you can see the leg of the character with a big wooden stick in the middle, this will serve to nail it to the body and give enough support to the legs.
Después de hacer el cuerpo, continué con los zapatos y las propias piernas. Fíjense que los zapatos azules los hice por partes. Primero comencé con la parte blanca de estos, como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo, a la izquierda. Son esas partes que parecen pantuflas, más arriba en la misma foto se ve la parte azul del zapato.
En la imagen de la derecha pueden ver la pierna del personaje con un gran palillo de madera en medio, esto servirá para clavarlo en el cuerpo y darle bastante soporte a las piernas.

I tried to make the shoes as similar as possible to the ones the character has with this outfit. Notice that I even made the socks purple, up to above the ankle.
That's how I made the two legs, which I placed in the hole I had previously made. In addition to the wooden stick, I used glue to give more support to this area, leaving the piece very solid at the base.
Traté de que los zapatos fuesen lo más parecidos a los que el personaje tiene con este atuendo. Fíjense que hasta los calcetines los hice de color morado, hasta más arriba del tobillo.
Así fue como hice las dos piernas, las cuales coloqué en el hueco que había hecho anteriormente. Además del palillo de madera, usé pegamento para dar mas soporte a toda esta área, quedando la pieza muy sólida en la base.

The next thing was to work on the arms. Each one is different. Notice that the one on the right has a brown glove, a thick motorized glove, while the arm on the left is completely bare. They are similar, but they have their flare.
Lo siguiente fue trabajar en los brazos. Cada uno es distinto. Fíjense que el de la derecha tiene un guante de color marrón, un guante grueso de motorizado, mientras que el brazo de la izquierda está completamente desnudo. Son parecidos, pero tienen sus destalles.

To attach them to the body I used a couple of thin wires, to give support to the two pieces. On the other hand, so that they could stay in place, I used some glue on the shoulder joints.
If you look at the picture below I also attached the belt with its buckle and a small pouch hanging from the belt. In addition, I placed a scarf around his neck and a huge piece of wood that would serve as a support for his head.
Para fijarlos en el cuerpo usé un par de alambres delgados, para darle soporte a las dos piezas. Por otra parte, para que pudieran mantenerse fijas en su lugar, usé un poco de pegamento en las uniones del hombro.
Si se fijan en la imagen de abajo también le coloqué el cinturón con su hebilla y un pequeño bolsito colgando del cinturón. Además, le coloqué una bufanda en el cuello y un enorme trozo de madera que serviría de soporte para la cabeza.
Here comes the hardest part, but the one I will delve into the least, the head. To do this piece I could take a whole post explaining how to do faces, but it's not something I want to take too long explaining. The point is that Bulma's features are delicate and time consuming, so it's something that needs to be dedicated to get it right, with the desired finish.
Notice that I started with a single piece of light skin color, because Bulma is like that, with light skin. Then, I did the eyes, mouth and eyebrows, also a very important feature in the face.
Viene la parte más difícil, pero en la que ahondaré menos, la cabeza. Para hacer esta pieza podría tomar una publicación completa explicando cómo hacer rostros, pero no es algo en lo que quiera tardar demasiado explicando. El punto es que los rasgos de Bulma son delicados y requieren de mucho tiempo, así que es algo en lo que hay que dedicarse para que quere bien, con el acabado deseado.
Fíjense que comencé con una única pieza de color piel clara, pues Bulma es así, con la piel clara. Luego, hice los ojos, la boca y las cejas, un rasgo también muy importante en el rostro.

As the character has a braid in his hair, I made three long lines of sky blue plasticine and stretched them as much as I could, giving him the shape he has in the image below, on the left. Then it was a matter of making the plasticine braid as if it were real hair, as you can see in the image on the right.
Como el personaje tiene una trenza en el cabello, hice tres líneas largas de plastilina azul cielo y las estiré lo más que pude, dándole la forma que tiene en la imagen de abajo, a la izquierda. Luego fue cuestión de hacer la trenza de plastilina como si fuese cabello de verdad, tal como ven en la imagen de la derecha.

After that I started to glue the hair on the skull, to fix the braid in place, using wire and glue. Notice that the hair has texture, I did this by making numerous lines, one by one, along the entire length of the hair, to give it that finish you see in the image below.
Ya luego de esto comencé a pegar el cabello en el cráneo, para fijar posteriormente la trenza en su lugar, usando alambre y pegamento. Fíjense que el cabello tiene textura, esto lo hice haciendo numerosas líneas, una por una, a lo largo de todo el cabello, para darle ese acabado que ven en la imagen de abajo.

Finally I placed details like a huge bow at the beginning of the braid and a much smaller elastic at the end.
I just attached the head to the body using more glue on the wooden stick I already had on the neck of the figurine.
Finalmente coloqué detalles como un enorme lazo que tiene en el comienzo de la trenza y un elástico mucho más pequeño al final.
Por último solo fijé la cabeza en el cuerpo usando más pegamento en el palillo de madera que ya tenía en el cuello de la figurita.
After adding a couple of strands of hair on the forehead, the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of pictures of the final result:
