A cold shower after a hot one apparently is good for health. Don't know, I am not brave enough to try that. I shiver only at the thought of it.
But figurately, that's not good for you. Trust me, I know.
So, yesterday I was happy to discover with backing numbers what a great investment I've made in Listnerds both in time and monetarily. That's the hot one.
But later in the day - practically today since it was almost 2am - came the cold shower.
I did some Hive-Engine tasks, withdrawn some HIVE, moved it to my account where I keep most of my HIVE Power, powered it up and then delegated it to this account.
All well and good, except something went wrong during this process. Luckily it was at the very end, but it still provokes a mess for the next 5 days.
What was I trying to do? Delegate 10044 and change HP to gadrian. What really happened? This:
Delegated 1044 and change instead. What's the difference? Only a zero less. Instead of having over 10k at my disposal on this account now I have 1k. Well, about 1400 because the account has a little HP of its own.
It's true, that's only temporary, and 5 days as a minnow is a soft punishment for not being extra careful when you handle your financial transactions.
The problem is the more tedious and routine a process gets, the more dismissive and inattentive I tend to become to clear the task as quickly as possible. And sometimes screwups happen.
Well, for the next 5 days my punishment for that is low curation rewards. But there is also an indirect punishment for people I vote for, which will now receive a ten times lower upvote than before for the next 5 days. Sorry everyone!
It's not the first time I do stupid things either lately.
About two weeks ago I sent someone a level 3 Yodin Zaku instead of delegating it to him. That's worth about 2k USD at market prices today (which is very cheap, in my opinion). If that was someone else, he could have vanished and never heard from him again. Luckily he is a friend and he returned it right away. That person is @ph1102, half of the @liotes project. If you don't know him or the project, that might count when you form your opinion.
My impression is that some of these errors happen because I tend to become overwhelmed. So, going forward I believe I'll make some changes on my daily schedule to see how they help.
