This is the #38 (uninterrupted) issue of "Week through Adrian's Lenses" weekly roundup.
Let's see what we have for this week.
Week on Hive
32 of 48 tracked posts made it to this week's issue of the "Week on Hive" roundup.
Hive Power Day and Start of New Power Up Month Challenge
Today it happens that Week through Adrian's Lenses weekly Hive and crypto roundup (with a personal touch) coincided with Hive Power Up Day. It is also the day when another Power Up Month Challenge begins, for those interested.
Personally, I continued with my monthly challenge to power up 1,000 HIVE on HPUD and I'm glad I could keep up. More about this in tomorrow's post about my Hive goals, since this post has a different purpose.
Memories of Hivefest 2023...
This is a delayed post showing hard work preparations before the Hivefest...
I think @trostparadox had a good idea to post his presentation slides from Hivefest. He shared some interesting ideas in his presentation...
CleanGirl's (@sofiag) presentation at Hivefest shows what is possible with Waivio for ecommerce and affiliate marketing on Hive. And this is the presentation of Waivio's owner at Hivefest, from my understanding Sofia's dad?
Khal shared a little of the behind-the-scene atmosphere at Hivefest, for the time he participated, because he left before the extra activities ended.
Sometimes wishing really hard to be at Hivefest overcomes many obstacles. Other times, unfortunately, not. But this is one of the happy cases.
Splinterlands - More Tough, But Necessary Decisions
On Monday, Splinterlands announced more layoffs (primarily the marketing department, but not only) and a serious restructuring of the business into two separate entities under the same parent company. There were some positive announcements and plans for the future, but in the end, everything is subsequent to staying afloat during the tough times until the bull market comes as a savior of the distressed crypto businesses.
HiveBeeCon is Coming in Krakow in a Week
And there are consistent updates for what to expect there. Here's what came out this week:
Gandalf: Witness, Dev and Other Updates
Closely related to HiveBeeCon - since Gandalf was the one who proposed it publicly -, is his post about witnesses and seed nodes, Clive and more.
Value Plan Returns for the Remainder Q4 DHF Funding
Value Plan - which is behind the funding of many of the conferences where Hive is present and initiatives and projects that can be funded by Hive to help improve our outreach and adoption - created a new DHF proposal for the remainder Q4 funding needed for 2023 (they already took some of the Q4 funding in advance to fund the expensive conference season).
Leo Updates
The Leo team prepares to introduce algorithmic feeds on Threads (for now, long post feeds later). This is what you'll find as "For You" on Twitter (X). The difference is Leo's algorithm will be open.
It also looks like the last few days of this Zealy campaign are here...
SuperHive Has a New Version
SuperHive is a CMS that allows the creation of a personalized blog website linked to a Hive blog. Another version was released and here are details about it.
Golem Overlord Development Updates

DAB Club Token
The DailyDab project, managed jointly by SBI and BRO funds, will have a VIP option called the DAB Club (token). Only one token per account is needed, and it costs 30 HBD (discounted to 20 HBD for DBOND presale participants). Here's the pre-announcement.
Astral Wars Discusses Land Presale
In a post from this week, Astral Wars discusses the details of the land presale, including how to purchase them and how much it costs. Prices are in $STELLARIUM and they differ based on the type of keystone. Those familiar with the game probably know more. The post is quite detailed. but there is a discord server too.
Tip Musicians Using Rising Star
Rising Star added the option to tip musicians on the radio tracks with STARBITS or SWAP.HIVE.
Exode Introduces a New Gameplay Mode
The new gameplay mode will be called Exode Factions and "will test colony missions in special squad and mission simulated missions".
@elindos describes the reason why he introduced the new game mode and a host of other updates for the game.
Life of Hive
BRO Sponsoring a Nigerian Football Team
Looks like the BRO Fund is interested to follow through with the investment in this future Nigerian Football Academy. Let's see where this leads.
Reactions After Borehole 11 in Ghana Was Launched
There were a number of posts on this topic. I'll add two of them:
New Stores Added in Sucre's Network of HBD Payments
This week we had new announcements of other stores added by the Hive Sucre team to the network of businesses that accept HBD payments. Here are the relevant posts:
- Stores continue to be added in CumanĂ¡ state Sucre with the HBD Hivesucre crypto-adoption project
- Welcome @renatastore, a new commercial ally in Hive that accepts HBD and a new use case
McSamm Represented Hive in Amsterdam Conference
@mcsamm participated at the TechExpo Conference in Amsterdam, where he talked about the "remarkable contributions of the Hive blockchain in Africa, particularly Ghana". Here's his post about the event.
Join and Power Up 89k Hive
I haven't featured newly onboarded users in this section until now, even though I came across some remarkable ones every once in a while. Maybe I will from time to time going forward.
Here's the first one. We sometimes hear there are not enough investors in HIVE. Meet @rak7, a fiction writer who bought and powered up 89k HIVE right away after a dinner discussion with @hiro-hive. This story rhymes well with today's HPUD too.
Week in the Crypto World
Crypto Class Action vs. Meta and Google Coming to a Predictable End?
When you go head-to-head against tech giants on a terrain they can control one way or another, even by burying the opposing attorneys under tons of work, costs, or dragging it sine die, it's a long-shot from the start.
In the crypto class action against Meta and Google, @apshamilton, occasionally helped by @brianoflondon (who is not a lawyer), tried to obtain compensations (this may not be the right legal term) from the tech giants in an Australian court, for the losses the class action participants suffered due to the actions of Meta and Google to prohibit crypto advertising on their platforms some years ago (in the meantime, they started to relax those decisions).
Looks like the lawsuit may be coming to a rather abrupt, but let's face it, predictable end.
Here are a few relevant posts on the topic:
- @apshamilton: Crypto Class Action Interlocutory Judgement (First Contested Hearing) to be delivered tomorrow
- @brianoflondon: A Judgement in the Crypto Class Action
- @ura-soul: The Crypto Class Action Law Suit Was Stopped By The Judge For A Variety of Reasons.. Some Thoughts.
Instead of Another Crypto News This Week
I had a long day and this turned out to be a longer than expected post, and I don't have the energy to look for a suitable crypto-related news to add here. Instead, I'd rather try something different today.
I'll share a song that seems to have been on my mind these days. Just discovered it, although it's not new. I have no idea what the composer(s) had on their minds when they wrote it, but to me, the lyrics remind me of crypto or investments, in general.
This is a 1h loop I found on YT, since the song is pretty short and I'd rather listen to it several times in a row.
