HBD Interest Payments For January 2025 | $100k+

Welcome February! It is the shortest month of the year, but it is set up to be the most interesting one for crypto. We have completed the first month of the year already. Time is flying. January was anything but uneventful. It is unbelievable how bitcoin at or around $100 is a norm now. We all knew we would get here, the question always was what is beyond. Now we are dreaming of $1 million price point for bitcoin, and it doesn't seem unachievable either. I thing the overall belief that bitcoin will reach $1 million per coin is stronger than what people thought regarding bitcoin reaching $100k a few years ago. Regardless when we reach this target, things will keep moving forward in the bitcoin network, crypto world and decentralization efforts.

Things look much more optimistic for bitcoin and crypto these days. MicroStrategy continues to buy more and more bitcoin, and it doesn't look like they will stop anytime soon. ETFs continue attract more capital and continue accumulating bitcoins as well. The U.S. government, its branches and agencies are much more crypto friendly than we ever saw before. Bitcoin and crypto's recognition around the world continues to grow. Building are building, developing developing, traders are trading, hodlers are hodling, and now all these processes switching gears and preparing to accelerate to new highs. Great is great optimism in the markets regarding crypto, however not so much about economies. There are still some uncertainties, but in general I think we are heading to prosperity.

Hive has done well in January. Kinda impressive after extended stagnation for the most part of the previous year. Although we have seen price drops today for Hive coins, this has been the case for many other coins too. I don't know what has caused the sudden drops in prices today, maybe it is just time to cool down a little bit before restarting the journey back to the moon. I wouldn't mind to see even higher price drops in coming weeks. Some of us may still need better entries to cryptos we prefer. That said I hope 2025 will be a great year for crypto and will not turn out be a disappointment.

I am invested back in HBD again. At the end of December I decided to start buying HBD. It may have started as a simple idea of increasing my HP when Hive prices went up, then it turned into a routine of buying more and more HBD. I ended selling 50k Hive and turned them all back into HBD. Initially, I wasn't planning to keep HBD for extended period of time. However, Hive's price kept going up and better option at that point was to use HBD Savings again. It may have been a wrong decision at the time. But no regrets.

Last year, around the same time or maybe in spring I bought Hive with all HBD I had at that time. Now I am almost at the same levels again with slightly more HP and slightly more HBD. I am glad we have these two options. It turns out internal market is not as liquid as I expected. While trading Hive/HBD is still doable in thousands, but it may take a little longer to buy one or the other coin at similar prices. There were also times that price discrepancies between internal and external markets were higher than desired.

I like having both Hive and HBD. This creates more opportunities regardless what happens in the markets. If Hive's price drops significantly, there is an opportunity to increase HP. If Hive's price moves up significantly, there are opportunities to increase HBD holdings. While the success of both is interconnected, Hive's success is what matters the most. More Hive appreciates in value, more HBD it can afford to print and continue paying interest on HBD in savings.

Let's take a look at the numbers.

We are back above $100k in monthly interest payments. I didn't think we would see these numbers anytime soon after APR was dropped to 15%. This shows that there is still strong interest for holding HBD as an investment in Savings. Not only the total paid amount has increased, but the number of recipients have gone up as well. Last time we had this number above 3k was eight months ago. Hopefully we will these numbers continue to grow, and we will see more HBD adoption. It is the best algorithmic stable coin.
