This is my participation to the OCD Community Boost Contest #8 of which the highlight is one of my favorite communities, the Shadow Hunters Community. If you are not aware of this contest read up on the link here and join in the fun. Be excited as I am and share your day in shadows.
My day usually starts with me spending time in my wife's garden. The first thing that I do is water the plants. There are so many of them to water and when I am joined by my grandson, which is almost all the time, we wind up spending more time, and water, while at it.
Photos above show me watering our Purple Spiderwort (Tradescantia) plants. We planted these outside our house along the sidewalk so as to make a merrier and more colorful ambience on the outside.
Usually, after watering the plants in the garden, there are some water puddles that remain and sometimes they do give beautiful reflections of our temple trees and flowers.
These temple trees (we have 3 of them) shed leaves like it is autumn. Every morning the garden is full of dead leaves and wilted flowers which fall off the trees at all times of the day, and especially at night. So after watering the plants it is time to sweep the garden clean. My favorite sweeper is this "Walis Tingting" as we call it in our local vernacular. It is a broom made from the thin midribs of palm or coconut leaves. The stiff ribs are tied up on one end to form the broom.
I love using this over a regular outdoor broom because of its flexibility and handling which allow me to get to small spaces in between the potted flowers.
Next is pruning. Some of our plants, like this rosal (Gardenia Augusta) grow really tall and they block the sunlight entering the garden. So out with my garden scissors and my handy dandy old rickety ladder to trim some of its leaves.
And here are some of the branches trimmed off beside the ladder.
Time to put out to sun some of our sun loving plants. We keep them under roof during the night in case it rains and the plants become water-logged.

Here's my assistant in my morning chores in the garden. My 5 year old grandson doing some shadows of a ptyrodactyl.
And that's it for my typical morning in the garden. Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did doing it. My thanks to @melinda010100 who encouraged me to do this post. Can't let you down my dear friend😊
