Everyone has their specific codes, of course, and we have a general code that allows us to live in society. If we check the ten commandments that in theory, Moses received from God, some of them we have in the written codes of every country, such as to kill and false witness. Probably these laws also can be found in more ancient codes of other people that existed before. But like I said in the beginning I will explore a bit about some personal codes that are very important for myself.
Time should be respected. That is an important code for me and it is very difficult for many people to understand, including my wife. If we have an appointment that starts at 9am I need to be there at 9 am. I usually get mad at my wife since she is the queen of being delayed. But in Brazil, it is a pretty common culture to be delayed. If you schedule a party at a certain time, people start arriving 1h later. That really gets on my nerves. Why would someone book an appointment but not respect the exact time of the appointment? It is difficult to understand this behavior. For me, if you are not fulfilling an appointment time is disrespectful to the other person who booked this time stamp for that appointment.
Another important code is reciprocity in relationships. I am a person who praises those that are important for me, but investing in a relationship that I feel that the other one isn't investing on it in the same way, would deserve correspondent treatment. I used to have a friend that I was the only one to call for going out, If I wasn't calling he wouldn't call me. I stopped calling him at some time and never heard back from him after that. Another one is my brother. I used to call him and give presents for his birthdays, and his kids. But it never happened the same way in the other way. So I stopped doing everything that I was doing. Why invest in a relationship that the other one isn't interested in keeping it?
Linked to the last one, is valorizing good friendships and cheering for friends as they are my own family. I am a team player with my friends and I trust them with my soul. Probably in Hive my friends noticed that. For example, Hive Learners, is my main community of posting, but there are people behind that and I trust them and support them as they need help promoting or investing in their projects. I really believe in Panda-X project because of that. But other members of the community who aren't leaders also have my trust for sure. I am a team player in both work and personal relationships.
In order to fit into Society, we need to respect some rules that could lead us to jail or judicial problems. However, there are also our codes that for sure it isn't a rule for other people to follow as well, but I feel that these personal codes are important to follow if you want to keep a relationship with the owner of these codes. For example, my personal codes if broken by my friends can lead to personal disappointments that could bring me away from a person. When we are in a relationship we need to respect the codes of the others, some of them can be negotiated as facultative, but it needs to be a negotiation and conversation about it.
Todos têm seus códigos específicos, é claro, e temos um código geral que nos permite viver em sociedade. Se verificarmos os dez mandamentos que, em teoria, Moisés recebeu de Deus, alguns deles estão nos códigos escritos de todos os países, como matar e falso testemunho. Provavelmente, essas leis também podem ser encontradas em códigos mais antigos de outros povos que existiram antes. Mas, como disse no início, vou explorar um pouco sobre alguns códigos pessoais que são muito importantes para mim.
O tempo deve ser respeitado. Esse é um código importante para mim e é muito difícil para muitas pessoas entenderem, incluindo minha esposa. Se temos um compromisso que começa às 9h, preciso estar lá às 9h. Costumo ficar bravo com minha esposa, já que ela é a rainha do atraso. Mas no Brasil, é uma cultura bastante comum se atrasar. Se você marca uma festa para um determinado horário, as pessoas começam a chegar uma hora depois. Isso realmente me irrita. Por que alguém marcaria um compromisso, mas não respeitaria o horário exato do compromisso? É difícil entender esse comportamento. Para mim, não cumprir o horário de um compromisso é desrespeitoso para a outra pessoa que reservou esse horário para esse compromisso.
Outro código importante é a reciprocidade nos relacionamentos. Sou uma pessoa que elogia aqueles que são importantes para mim, mas investir em um relacionamento no qual sinto que a outra pessoa não está investindo da mesma forma merece um tratamento correspondente. Eu costumava ter um amigo que eu era o único a chamar para sair. Se eu não ligasse, ele não me ligava. Parei de ligar para ele e nunca mais ouvi falar dele depois disso. Outro é meu irmão. Eu costumava ligar para ele e dar presentes de aniversário para ele e seus filhos. Mas nunca aconteceu o mesmo no outro sentido. Então, parei de fazer tudo o que estava fazendo. Por que investir em um relacionamento que a outra pessoa não está interessada em manter?
Ligado ao último, está valorizar boas amizades e torcer pelos amigos como se fossem minha própria família. Sou um jogador de equipe com meus amigos e confio neles com minha alma. Provavelmente, meus amigos no Hive notaram isso. Por exemplo, o Hive Learners é minha principal comunidade de postagens, mas há pessoas por trás disso e eu confio nelas e as apoio conforme precisam de ajuda para promover ou investir em seus projetos. Realmente acredito no projeto Panda-X por causa disso. Mas outros membros da comunidade que não são líderes também têm minha confiança, com certeza. Sou um jogador de equipe tanto no trabalho quanto nos relacionamentos pessoais.
Para se encaixar na sociedade, precisamos respeitar algumas regras que podem nos levar à prisão ou problemas judiciais. No entanto, também temos nossos códigos que, com certeza, não são uma regra para outras pessoas seguirem, mas sinto que esses códigos pessoais são importantes de seguir se você quiser manter um relacionamento com o dono desses códigos. Por exemplo, meus códigos pessoais, se quebrados por meus amigos, podem levar a decepções pessoais que poderiam me afastar de uma pessoa. Quando estamos em um relacionamento, precisamos respeitar os códigos dos outros, alguns deles podem ser negociados como facultativos, mas precisa haver uma negociação e conversa sobre isso.
