El control anual ontológico lo debemos hacer todas las personas indistintamente de la edad, sexo, raza, condición social No hay excusa porque si no hay la posibilidad económica de pagar una consulta privada existen los seguros y existen los odontólogos que están en trabajando en el área pública.

Qué hacemos nosotros en esa consulta anual hacemos una revaloración o una reevaluación si ya eres paciente y tienes una historia en ese centro asistencial, pues tu odontograma no va a ser el mismo puede haber mucho más caries puede haber resinas desadaptadas puede haber fracturas gingivitis entonces cambia el panorama se realiza un nuevo examen clínico.

Luego de eso lo primero que nosotros realizamos es una profilaxis o detartratraje supragingival es decir, eliminar todo lo que es cálculo, piedra y placa bacteriana de la superficie del diente, caras libres y proximales, de esa manera podemos lograr equilibrar los tejidos de soporte.

Este procedimiento lo hacemos con ultrasonido por todas las caras del diente es decir caras libres caras proximales caras oclusales luego de eso de eliminar todo lo que es factores desencadenantes y programamos citas para las siguientes patologías que pueda presentar el paciente hay pacientes que vienen cero caries y solamente se le hace una limpieza de control, pero hay otros que sí vienen en malas condiciones.

Luego de realizar detartraje hacemos un Pulido también llamado profilaxis con una pasta abrasiva para alisar la superficie del diente de manera tal de que no haya zonas donde se puedan acumular la bacteria ustedes saben que la bacteria son microscópicas y en cualquier irregularidad se pueden adosar ese Pulido nos hace que ellas resbalen y con la ayuda del cepillado no habrá ningún tipo de problema ni de acumulación de bacterias.

Hago mucho énfasis en esa cita de control porque podemos allí detectar a tiempo ciertas patologías y podemos darle respuesta al paciente de manera idónea sin dolor si esperamos que esas patologías avances como caries como enfermedad periodontal se transforman en fracturas en abscesos y en procedimientos mucho más complejos dolorosos y costosos.
