You ever hear a name and just know there’s a story behind it? That’s usually the reaction I get when I introduce myself as “Smart Princess”.
Nope, it’s not a username I made up for the internet.
And no, it’s not a nickname from childhood that just stuck around.
It’s my real name — Smart is my actual surname, and yes, Princess is really on all my documents.
People always pause when they hear it. There's that tiny moment of confusion, then the smile, then the classic:
“Wait… is that your real name?”
Yes. It is. And honestly? I’ve come to enjoy the reactions. It’s always a conversation starter and if nothing else, it makes introductions a little more fun!
I’ll be honest — I’m still figuring out what exactly goes on here. The communities, the posts… it’s a lot, but in a good way. I like that it feels different.
It was @ibbtammy, by the way (shoutout to you!), who told me I had to come on here and introduce myself properly. And even though I wasn’t entirely sure what to write or how to start — here I am.
I’m an introvert. The type who loves quiet moments, cozy spaces, and peace.
But I’m also Nigerian, and if you know, you know — you kinda have to learn to fake extroversion to survive. You are told “you can’t afford to be too quiet for too long”. So yes, I’ve learned how to fake it when I need to, speak up, show up, and bring energy when I have to but just know I probably need to sleep right after.
Things That Bring Me Joy
- Photography and Video Editing
Give me raw clips, give me music, give me vibes — and I’ll give you a perfectly edited visual piece. Whether it’s a video, a photo, or just a random creative project, I enjoy the process of piecing everything together.
I genuinely enjoy photo and video editing so much that it’s become both a hobby and a side hustle. Whether it’s for fun, freelance work, or just messing around with new transitions.
My main editing bae is Adobe Premiere, but I also play around with mobile tools like CapCut, InShot, and a few more when I want to whip something up on the go. I’ve spent hours (okay, maybe too many hours) crafting edits, learning new tricks, and just enjoying the process.
- Sleeping (Seriously, It’s a Lifestyle)
Let’s not pretend sleep isn’t a hobby. Because if there were competitions? I’d at least qualify for nationals.
There’s something about curling up in bed that just hits the right spot especially after a long day of pretending to be an extrovert, adulting, socializing, or just existing in general. Sleep is my reset button, and my favorite form of self-care.
- Pineapples
Pineapples? Yes. All day, every day. Fresh, juicy, and lowkey addictive. I could snack on them nonstop.
- My Afro Hair
My natural Afro Hair is my baby- my relationship with it is complicated but beautiful.
I love it like it’s a living thing and some days, it really behaves like one. I’ll go the extra mile for it: wash day routines, deep conditioning, satin bonnets, hair oils, protective styling, the full package.
But does it always care for me the way I care for it? No.
Still, I love it. Even when it heavily breaks, shrinks, tangles for no reason.
Now that I’m here on Hive, I’m excited to dive into some communities that align with my interests. I’m all about exploring and learning, so I’ll definitely be joining communities where I can share my love for DIY projects, Photo editing, and creative expression. These things not only keep me busy but also bring me joy!
The DIY community is a huge interest of mine — I love creating, and finding new ways to bring life to old things. Whether it’s making art, refurbishing furniture, or experimenting with new craft ideas.
Also planning to check out the fashion side of Hive not because I’m a designer or anything, but I do love personal style and seeing how people express themselves through clothes. I like mixing pieces, playing with looks, and just being inspired by what others are doing.
And hey, if you're also into sharing fun lifestyle content, or tips you can expect to see me around, leaving comments and engaging!
I don’t have Hive all figured out yet, but I’m excited to be here. To explore, connect, learn new things, and maybe share a few of the things I love with the community.
So this is a bit about me: Smart Princess. A sleepy human, a visual storyteller, a DIY lover and an introvert trying to navigate Hive with a little help from @ibbtammy .
Let’s see where this goes.

Thanks so much for reading! Feel free to drop a comment, say hi, or just leave a pineapple emoji if you made it this far. I’m here for it all!
