This morning when I saw the prompt in the #leo.tasks, I decided to show one of my best breakfast meals. One of my best breakfast fast meals is bean cake and custard.
Even when I have food in my food flask, I branched in a small shop along my office, bought pap, bean cake and milk.
Bean Cakes Production
Bean Cakes are one of the simplest foods to prepare, the following are the steps to make bean cake.
Step one
Removing the back of the beans: there are different ways you can remove the back of the beans. But I preferred the easiest way for myself; I used a blender to blend it for 3 ! minutes. Then, I poured the beans into a small dish, washed it with my hands. The back of the beans began to flow in the top of the water; I used my hand to pack the back of the beans.
When I discovered that some beans were still with my back, I used my hands to press them, sieved them.
Step Two
After I successfully removed the shaft or the back; I put the beans in a blender. I blended all the beans.
Before I blended the beans, I add the following ingredients:
Pepper: it is important to add pepper to it so that the bean cakes can be spicy. It depends on how you love pepper. I don't like my food to be too spicy, it hurts my mouth too much and by the time I want to defecate, it also hurts my anus.
Onion: it added flavor and texture to the bean cakes.
Adding onion to bean cakes was good and it gave the bean cakes a good aroma.
Crayfish: it was tasty and yummy. I love the taste of crayfish, and I always included it in most of my homemade food.
Crayfish is proteinous in nature, the addition of protein in the food increases the amount of protein.
After I added the above ingredients, I blended all together until it was smooth.
Step three
I removed the blended beans from the blender; and I used a turning stick to stir it together for a few seconds. That was how they told me. The person that taught me said, “you have to stir the blended beans together".
Salt and Maggi
I added salt and Maggi, stirred the together.
Step four
I put the frying pan on a fire, put palm oil in it, and added onion. The onion added gave a good aroma to the bean cakes when frying it.
I used a spoon to put the beans in hot oil, allow it for a few seconds before turning it.
Well! The first one I fried seemed burned because the fire was too much. Then, I reduced the fire, put the second round in the frying pan, and turned it after a few seconds. The second round was very good and awesome.
Step five
When I was done frying the bean cakes, I put water on the fire to make custard.
I didn't allow the water to boil because the first time I did that, I could not eat the custard.
Though, the custard I used was in powder form; I don't know maybe there's any form of custard except powder form.
I mixed a little water with it to turn it to liquid. I stirred it together.
I poured the custard on a hot water; continued stirring it together until it coagulated.
Note: If the water is too much, the custard won't be thick like the one I made.
That was how I made the custard.
What is my relationship with the food?
I grew up in northern part, where pap is one of their food. When we woke up in the morning, we took pap in the morning. We also used peanut to make pap! It is my best pap because it looks like milk. It is called kunun geda (peanut pap) that's a pap made from peanut. Because of my love for this peanut pap, there were times I took peanut pap twice in a day.
Since there is nothing like peanut pap in the recent place I'm living, I decided to take custard with milk. The reason I added milk was to looks like peanut pap.
You know how you will feel for a particular food you love and you have been eaten for years. I love the combination of pap/custard, milk and beans cakes; and the best time I like to eat it is early in the morning.
There was a day I was in my office. From my office to my house is not a place one can go today and come back home. I lived for three to four days in my office, and come back home for weekend.
The distance between where I could get the pap from my office was very far. Because I was craving for the food, I spent an hour to and fro to get the pap.
I don't like to eat a heavy food early in the morning: I don't like to eat heavy food such as a swallow food early in the morning. It makes me heavy and sleepy in the office. I love to eat very light food such as pap or tea in the morning.
I stand up for success, and success is not achieved by merely making mouth, No room for laziness, no room for idleness. Success comes to the people who are desperately and consciously searching for it. When it seems unsuccessful or you smell failure around you, never discourage yourself from being successful.
