I seem to have lost my car charger adapter today, and while out of town my phone died. I went 20 minutes out of my way for a replacement, and the one I found was $9.44, and after a few minutes it stopped working.
We imagine that the matrix has us in warm vats of liquid, floating suspended in an environment our senses cannot percieve, and that we are tethered to the machine in some sort of esoteric astro-cerebral way.
In truth we are tethered to the cellphones charger cord. Batteries do not last nearly as long as they should, and when your phone dies it's time to leave the party and go home. I remember the days when there were no cell phones, and you had to phone someone from a land line or phone booth, if at all.
There has to be a better way, for us to use the Internet. We are so limited by these devices that have enabled us to do so much, although we can still be impatient and unsatisfied with the most advanced technology on the planet.
Yet it means nothing when the power goes out.
