All of these markets, I feel, are not entirely dominated by large multi-national chains where even a street food vendor, or corner store is owned by some big corporate. They still have the "mum and pop" type stores, which leads to things like "alternate" payment methods to be a possibility.
Those businesses can accept hive and hbd, because, well, "they get it". But I can't see it happening on a large scale in more developed economies. There's too much regulation, too much risk, too many complicated and and unfavourable tax structures.
I would love to accept HBD and HIVE for my photography business, if only my clients had ever heard of it ;)
