Grass. I hate mowing. I put the ground cover (some sort of native violet?) and It has done an EXCELLENT job at suppressing weeds. My green organics bin hasn't been on the curb since OCTOBER, and it's not even 10% full. Most of the stuff in it is the remaining tufts of grass that keep coming up, and some cross cut, shredded paper documents.
I think it also safe to say that while agapathanthus (how ever the hell they are spelled) are low maintenance and fucking ubiquitous, they're really not that great, and annoying as hell to remove.
At my old place, I used to say that the weeds growing freely were just another way of me offsetting carbon emissions. Survival of the fittest, and all that.
