LeoDEX was developed by LeoFinance as part of its growing ecosystem. It is one where anyone in Hive can swap Layer 2 tokens. It's one amongst 4 decentralized exchanges that I have experienced using, re:
The LeoDEX Interface
Visiting the official link (https://leodex.io) will bring you to the market or trading page (default being LEO):
The interface is clean, crisp and user-friendly. It is so easy to navigate and explore and I believe that even a complete newbie can get through without much difficulty. The buttons are at the right places and page can switch between light and dark mode.
Killer Features That You Must Know
Hive-Engine Wallet & Richlist Page
This is one of the great features that LeoDEX has where we can see our wallet balance, the current value, the percentage change (24-hour period) and the amount we have staked.
Also, all the necessary and available action/commands are included in the page. We can send, stake (unstake), delegate, check the history and even see who holds the most tokens through the richlist button which redirects to the Richlist Page. How cool it that, right?
This for instance is the LEO token's Richlist. Yep, we can snoop around these lists to see the who's who (the whales) of each of the Hive-Engine tokens.
Rewards Page
This is where we can see and claim HE-token rewards. Additionally, we can view our Voting Power for each token.
Vote Weight Multiplier Settings
The feature that allows us to set the vote weight for LEO and other Layer 2 tokens so as not to drain our Hive Voting Power so easily.
This is one that I learnt just over a month ago, thanks to one.alfa who taught me about it through a comment made on one of my posts.
Deposit and Withdraw (Swap)
When we want to buy other HE tokens, we need Swap.Hive and the "Deposit" feature helps us do that. We deposit $HIVE and the equivalent Swap.Hive will be credited to our HE wallet minus at a minimal fee (0.25%).
We use the "Withdraw" feature when we want to exchange the Swap.Hive into HIVE which will then be credited to our main wallet.
These two buttons ("Deposit" and "Withdraw") confused me a bit before then I realized it's actually a bridge (if I can call it that way) which enables us to convert $HIVE into Swap.Hive and vice-versa.
Perhaps it would be good to add a short description on the pop up (window) of what they are to avoid confusion.
Generally, this feature is very handy especially to the newbies because they don't need to go to other swapping facility to convert their HIVE into Swap.Hive when they want to buy $LEO from the market or any other layer 2 tokens for that matter.
And of course, using this will help in the liquidity of both $HIVE and Swap.Hive in the LeoDEX wallets. And I reckon the revenue fees may also help in the projects and developments in the LeoVerse and its economy.
The LeoDEX is enabling Hive users to have a better option for their trading and swapping needs. The DEX has currently 820 layer tokens listed but only about 214 had over $1 trading volume, DEC being the most traded asset with $47.3k in the last 24 hours.
Personal Experience with LeoDEX
Apart from getting confused with the "Deposit" and "Withdraw" buttons during my first use, my experience had been generally great. It is my go-to DEX when buying $LEO for this account.
One of the features that I like the most is the Vote Weight Multiplier where I can adjust the settings anytime I want especially when my Hive Voting Mana is getting too low.
And yes, I recommend anyone to try it out!
