On my recent journey between the woods of Shimla, I found something, something so interesting that I couldn't take my eyes off. Actually it's an abandoned mud house between the jungle. I was amazed to see it. I haven't even imagined in my dreams that something so unique and interesting could be found between woods and far away from all sort of connections from the modern world.
If you have seen many recent blogs, then you must know how much I love walking and exploring places which are not that famous and away from all the distractions. This was quite interesting and it gained my attention, Can you guess who lived here?
Currently i'm in woods of upper shimla area and as far as you can see, youu will find pine in the deodar tree all around you. The air here is crisp and as pure as you can imagine. Walking here feels like healing your body by breathing the fresh air.
I thought I was alone here unless I spot an uncle working here and after talking with him for a while, I came to know that he is here to gather the the soil of the jungle which is full of all the nutrients as well as minerals. *He told me that he will use the soil as a fertilizer in his apple field. He also mentioned that, using chemical fertilizer has worsen the quality of soil and it's harmful for every human being out there. It's harmful for plants and for animals, for the ecosystem and flora and fauna around. He said that chemical fertilisers are worse quality of fertilisers as first of all they are costly and secondly, they harm the soil. They degraded all the good qualities of the soil and make it poisonous. Furthermore these poisonous chemicals get into to the fruits and vegetables that we grow on the such field and harm the human health.
After moving further, I saw a huge Stone which
was covering small stones under it and I came to know that it is a traditional method to make the organic fertilizer. This method is quiet time consuming and takes nearly a year for the organic fertilizer to become best in its quality.
This place is full of surprises, I was roaming around and I saw a huge tree In front of me with with unique roots. They seemed dry to me but upon looking at the tree, I found that it's completely health and was not at all dried and the leaves were green.
There were lots of such trees there, fancying was done all around them and they seemed to be protected and I don't know more about it. Even uncle didn't know anything about it. I googled it, but nothing.
And here come the another surpriseAn abandoned mud house. I was as amazed as you are now to see this abandoned mud house in between nowhere under the blue sky. It was completely made up of locally available materials such as mud stones and wood. With roof It's resistant to water as such houses are warms under bright sunlight, best to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
From inside they were emplty and made up of mud. They have kitchen area and a bedroom area inside divided bt little wall.
Upon talking with the only person there, I came to know that Gujars used to live here. *They are migtrants and depending upon whether condition. they move from one place to another. As the winters has hit the himalayas, they have now moved to plains along with their cattles. These Gujars play an important roll in agriculture as well, they grow different crops picked up from different area and the cattle dung fertilizes the land.
There were two abandoned mud house, they looked completely beautiful and majestic despiteof being broken and abandoned. I wonder how beautiful they use to look with roof and everything complete. For that I have to plan another visit here during summers when Gujars will be around.
