Hello, Splinterlands Friends and Family! 👋
For this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, I’ve decided to dive into Fizbo, the upcoming Legendary Halls of Legends card! 💎✨
I’ve previously written posts about other promo cards, and I enjoy releasing these analyses before the cards hit the ecosystem. Why? It’s my way of "predicting" how the card will perform in the current meta, its after all kind of a personal challenge, but also a helpful guide for players deciding whether to invest in the card or not. 🛡️💪
Join me as we uncover what this exciting new card brings to the game and how it fits into competitive play! 🚀⚔️
🌟 Introduction
Fizbo is the 5th legendary card from the Halls of Legends promo card set. Like every other Hall of Legends promo card, it’s a dual-element monster. Fizbo is a fire/earth legendary unit, meaning it can be used with both Splinters. 🔥🌱
The card’s art is quite unique and whimsical, featuring a vibrant array of colors, likely a nod to the "Fabulous" theme. 🎨✨
🧮 I. Stats per Level
Let’s dive into the stats of Fizbo at each level:
🥉 A. Bronze Level
At level 1, the card isn’t particularly impressive. It’s essentially a 6-mana tank healer, akin to an improved version of Goblin Psychic. It boasts better stats overall: higher speed, life, and armor. 🛡️✨
🥈 B. Silver Level
At level 2, the card gains its signature ability: Shroud of Reflection Shield. 🛡️ This is where Fizbo’s value truly shines, as the ability seems quite overpowered. (We’ll explore this ability in more detail later.) At Silver Level, the card experiences a major power spike! 🚀
🥇 C. Gold Level
At level 3, the card receives:
- +1 Speed 🌀
- +1 Armor 🛡️
- The Affliction ability.
While Affliction isn’t game-breaking, it’s a valuable addition, as disrupting enemy heals can often mean the difference between victory and defeat. 💔🔥
💎 D. Diamond/Champion Level
At level 4, the card gains +1 Magic Damage. While an improvement, it feels underwhelming for the cost of upgrading from level 3 to 4.
Given that Fizbo plays a support role, this stat upgrade might not justify the steep leveling investment. With the card’s release only two days away, it wouldn’t be surprising if this stat is adjusted to provide more impact. 🤔🔧
🛡️ III. New Ability: Shroud of Reflection Shield
Fizbo introduces a fantastic new ability to the game: Shroud of Reflection Shield.
This ability grants Reflection Shield to adjacent units, providing immunity to indirect damage like Blast and Thorns.
I’ve often praised Reflection Shield, and for good reason. I consider it to be the best ability in the game. 🔥 Now, with Fizbo granting this to two teammates, I firmly believe this card will dominate the meta. 🏆
🔄 Shroud of Reflection Shield & the Current Meta
In the current meta, melee teams struggle heavily against Tofu due to Thorns, making them nearly unplayable unless certain circumstances present themselves. Shroud of Reflection Shield completely disrupts this dynamic, giving melee units a fighting chance again.
The biggest beneficiary of this ability will undoubtedly be Venka. Once Fizbo is released, Venka will likely become unstoppable. ⚔️ Even now, Venka appears in 80% of matches, either as a core piece or a counterpick. The current meta revolves around:
- Protecting your Venka.
- Defending against enemy Venka.
- Finding ways to eliminate the opponent’s Venka first.
This card synergizes perfectly with Tofu and Venka, meaning they will continue ruling the meta, with Fizbo adding an even greater layer of strategy.
We still need to see the cards in action, but things don’t look promising for the current meta. 🌪️ While there’s a chance we might be pleasantly surprised, I expect Venka to dominate nearly every game after Fizbo’s release. Fizbo feels like an upgraded version of Goblin Psychic, likely taking its place on most teams.
🔄 Synergy with Other Cards
Beyond Venka, other melee units like Mantaroth or even cards like Eloise will have excellent synergy with Fizbo. 🤝 Honestly, the combinations seem endless, and this card might be the one to finally bring Tofu to its knees.
At the very least, the introduction of Fizbo reopens the door for melee cards to thrive at the highest levels of play. ⚔️
🎯 Reflection Shield: A Game-Changer for All
It’s important to highlight that Reflection Shield isn’t just for melee cards. By granting Reflection Shield to two units, Fizbo can counter a variety of rulesets and strategies involving ranged and magic attackers. 🌟 Whether or not it’s a game-winning factor in one match, it’s undeniably one of the strongest abilities in the game, offering immense value across many scenarios.
This ability, coupled with Fizbo’s versatility, makes it a pivotal card that will shape strategies in the new meta. 🔥
💰 III. Price Point:
Being a Halls of Legends Legendary card, Fizbo comes with a hefty price tag of 50,000 DEC or credits per copy, making the total cost 550,000 DEC for a maxed version. 🤑 This price is steep, but is it worth it? Let’s break it down.
🤔 Should You Buy Fizbo?
If you plan to play Splinterlands long-term and want to invest in Halls of Legends cards, Fizbo is a must-buy. 🏆 It’s a game-changer that will remain meta-relevant for a long time. (Though I might regret this bold claim later! 😅)
📉 Budget Option:
If you're on a tight budget, consider buying a Level 2 Fizbo. It costs only 150,000 DEC, making it much more affordable. At this level, you’ll still get an amazing support unit capable of healing and granting Reflection Shield to two units.
💪 Optimal Investment:
For those who can stretch their budget, aim for a Level 3 Fizbo. This is where the card truly shines. While Affliction isn’t game-breaking, it’s often essential, especially against backline taunters that get endlessly healed. 🔄
🚫 When to Avoid:
Avoid buying Level 4 Fizbo unless you’re a leaderboard player or have DEC to burn. The only upgrade at this level is +1 magic damage, which isn’t impactful enough to justify the high cost. 💸
🎯 Final Thoughts:
Fizbo is a versatile card with incredible potential to shape the meta. Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive one, this card offers strong utility at various levels. Choose the version that fits your needs and budget. 🛡️🔥
🎮 IV. A Match:
To evaluate Fizbo’s power and value, I simulated a match using the Challenge feature between two of my accounts. Let’s dive into the setup and results!
⚔️ Match Details:
- Mana Cap: 39
- Rulesets:
- Aim True: All attacks never miss.
- Scattershot: Ranged and magic attacks target random enemies.
- Cripple: All attacks apply Cripple.
🥊 Team Compositions:
Bottom Team (Classic Tofu Build):
- Tank: Grim
- Backline Killers: Acid Shooter & Olivia
Top Team (Fizbo Build):
- Tank: Mantaroth
- Support: Fizbo
- Backline Killers: Acid Shooter & Stitch Leech
Instead of using Venka, I opted for Mantaroth to test if Fizbo’s abilities could make him viable again. Venka would have been a better choice knowing the enemy would play Grim.
🎯 Tactics:
I gave Divine Shield to three units on each side. While Triage and Scavenger could have been viable options for Mantaroth or Stitch Leech, I stuck with a simpler approach for this test since I wanted to keep things objective.
🛡️ Battle Analysis:
As expected, Mantaroth dominated the fight. His Blast damage consistently wiped out second-position units, while the enemy team struggled to eliminate Fizbo and Acid Shooter.
The key takeaway is that Fizbo’s survival is not critical. His job is done as soon as the fight begins by granting Reflection Shield to adjacent units. In this match, Mantaroth with Reflection Shield was simply unstoppable, perfectly countering the enemy team's strategy.
This simulation highlights the immense utility Fizbo brings to any team, especially in enabling melee units to thrive. This card has the potential to reshape the meta entirely! 🔥

Conclusion 🌟
🔚 Conclusion:
Fizbo is shaping up to be a monumental addition to the Halls of Legends set and the Splinterlands meta. With its unique ability to grant Reflection Shield to adjacent units, Fizbo is not only versatile but also a game-changer in the current meta dominated by Venka and Tofu.
From enhancing melee viability to countering critical rulesets, Fizbo offers endless strategic opportunities. Whether you’re building a budget deck or aiming for competitive dominance, this card has something valuable to offer at every level.
However, the true potential of Fizbo will only become apparent after its release. Will it be the card that finally dethrones the current meta kings? Or will it create new synergies that elevate the game to a whole new level?
One thing is certain: Fizbo is not just another promo card, it’s a meta-defining powerhouse that no serious player should ignore. Whether you invest in a level 2 or splurge on maxing it out, Fizbo is set to make waves in Splinterlands for a long time to come. 🌟🔥
