I didn't watch it when it premiered, I put it aside when I learned that it was an adaptation of a novel by Caroline Kepnes, a writer I wasn't interested in. So far she has three books published and the series will soon have a fourth season.

Dear readers, I watched the first two episodes back to back and I was hooked on this series.
It's not the best series, the plot is not very original either, it's a strange mix of obsessive love story, some humor with a touch of Dexter hahaha. All this creates some situations within the plot that are absurd from my rational point of view.
I am amused by the protagonist's voiceover, it's what reminds me a lot of Dexter. In You, the protagonist throws many phrases and thoughts that give the humorous touch to the series, sometimes they are very accurate criticisms about social behavior. I think that's the part I love most about the series. But sometimes, that resource feels excessive.
The viewer must be willing to accept these narrative excesses, which result in scenes that are hard to believe ( in my opinion). Only if you're willing to swallow those parts will you truly enjoy the series. Will you accept the challenge?
The first season lays the groundwork for the story. The following seasons may be repetitive in structure, but it will be hard to resist and not get hooked, because it is in the second season when one character steals the show: Love Quinn.

Joe Goldberg is the manager of an old bookstore in New York, one day a beautiful young woman comes in to buy a book, when paying he gets the data of Guinevere Beck and soon begins to stalk her, observe her and casually get involved in her life. Is Joe Goldberg irresistible?
In the series women end up falling in love with Joe Goldberg when he is a pretty normal man, slim, in the promotional posters he looks handsome, but nothing out of this world, to me it is not so believable that he has so much luck flirting with the girls he sets out to conquer while he stalks them and also finds other women who become sentimentally entangled with him. It's something I noticed halfway through the first season and I admit I find it amusing. Maybe because I'm ugly, it bothers me that the character has such ease in conquering women, I have to try a hundred times harder.
Maybe for the female audience the character played by Penn Badgley does look like an irresistible Adonis. The actor does a great job playing this stalker killer, but he doesn't have the physique of a Henry Cavill to win over almost every woman he sets his sights on. That's my perception, I could be wrong and this generation's standard of beauty is Joe Goldberg.

Queridos lectores, vi los dos primeros episodios seguidos y me enganché a esta serie.
No es la mejor serie, la trama tampoco es muy original, es una extraña mezcla de historia de amor obsesivo, algo de humor con un toque de Dexter jajaja. Todo esto crea algunas situaciones dentro de la trama que son absurdas desde mi punto de vista racional.
Me divierte la voz en off del protagonista, es lo que me recuerda mucho a Dexter. En You, el protagonista lanza muchas frases y pensamientos que dan el toque humorístico a la serie, a veces son críticas muy acertadas sobre el comportamiento social. Creo que es la parte que más me encanta de la serie. Pero a veces, ese recurso se siente excesivo.
El espectador debe estar dispuesto a aceptar estos excesos narrativos, que dan lugar a escenas difíciles de creer ( según mi opinión). Sólo si estás dispuesto a tragarte esas partes, vas a disfrutar de verdad de la serie. ¿Aceptarás el reto?
La primera temporada sienta las bases de la historia. Las siguientes temporadas pueden ser repetitivas en su estructura, pero será difícil resistirse y no engancharse, porque es en la segunda temporada cuando un personaje se roba el show: Love Quinn.
Para los que no hayan visto la serie, ¿Cuál es el argumento?
Joe Goldberg es el encargado de una antigua librería en Nueva York, un día entra una hermosa joven a comprar un libro, al pagar obtiene los datos de Guinevere Beck y pronto comienza a acecharla e involucrarse casualmente en su vida. Se obsesiona con ella, es el amor de su vida. Joe hará lo que sea para enamorarla y también hará lo que sea para saltar los obstáculos, incluso si tiene que eliminar a gente. ¡ah! Es algo que noté a mitad de la primera temporada y reconozco que me parece divertido. Tal vez porque soy feo, me molesta que el personaje tenga tanta facilidad para conquistar mujeres, yo tengo que esforzarme cien veces más.
Tal vez para el público femenino el personaje interpretado por Penn Badgley sí parece un Adonis irresistible. El actor hace un gran trabajo interpretando a este asesino acosador, pero no tiene el físico de un Henry Cavill para conquistar a casi todas las mujeres en las que se fija. Esa es mi percepción, puedo estar equivocado y el estándar de belleza de esta generación es Joe Goldberg.
The Invisible Stalker

Idiotic friendships
Joe has no friends, he was abandoned by his mother when he was a child and in each season we will discover things about his past, trying to explain the character's traumas and behaviors.
Those who do have friends and family are the women with whom he relates. In each season we will see new characters who are perfect idiots. Beck's friends in the first season were mostly shallow women. This brings us very funny scenes as we listen to Joe's thoughts, with delirious phrases that become a satire of today's society.
In the second season the same thing happens, with the friends and family of his love interest. Moving to Los Angeles, it's all about fakery and appearances, although I didn't find the girl's friendships unbearable this time around. Maybe because Love Quinn's brother is the one who spends his time being a complete jerk.
The third one repeats the formula, this time, they both have to make friends with the people in the suburb they live in and pretend to be a normal family, but something will always happen that will make everything get out of control and the dead bodies pile up.
Candace
This character seemed a bit wasted to me, that only served to create some mystery about Joe's past before the series began. Candace was his previous known girlfriend, we don't know if he had other girlfriends before her and in the second season, when we think she might be a big danger to Joe, the character is deflated because it's not really clear what the hell she wants to do.
I was bored by their verbal sparring, the function of the character was to give more impact to the cool plop twist ending of the second season. I have no idea what the character is like in the books.

Amistades idiotas
Joe no tiene amigos, fue abandonado por su madre cuando era un niño y en cada temporada iremos descubriendo cosas de su pasado, tratando de explicar los traumas y comportamientos del personaje.
Quienes sí tienen amigos y familia son las mujeres con las que se relaciona. En cada temporada veremos nuevos personajes que son unos perfectos idiotas. Los amigos de Beck en la primera temporada eran en su mayoría mujeres superficiales. Esto nos trae escenas muy divertidas al escuchar los pensamientos de Joe, con frases delirantes que se convierten en una sátira de la sociedad actual.
En la segunda temporada ocurre lo mismo, con los amigos y la familia de su interés amoroso. Al trasladarse a Los Ángeles, lo que importa es la falsedad y las apariencias, aunque esta vez las amistades de la chica no me resultaron insoportables. Tal vez porque el hermano de Love Quinn es el que se pasa el tiempo siendo un completo imbécil.
La tercera repite la fórmula, esta vez, ambos tienen que hacerse amigos de la gente del suburbio en el que viven y pretende ser una familia normal, pero siempre ocurrirá algo que hará que todo se descontrole y los cadáveres se amontonen.
Candace
Este personaje me pareció un poco desaprovechado, eso sólo sirvió para crear algo de misterio sobre el pasado de Joe antes de empezar la serie. Candace fue su anterior novia conocida, no sabemos si tuvo otras novias antes de ella y en la segunda temporada, cuando creemos que puede ser un gran peligro para Joe, el personaje se desinfla porque no queda muy claro qué demonios quiere hacer.
Me aburrieron sus enfrentamientos verbales, la funcion del personaje fue dar más impacto al genial final plop twist de la segunda temporada. No tengo idea como es el personaje en los libros.
Joe is a sociopath
The character is definitely a sociopath. He wants to fill his mother's void with the women he falls in love with, unconsciously projecting his mother's love onto the women, so when he achieves his goal and they don't end up being what he imagined, he gets bored and quickly becomes obsessed with another. It is a constant search for a woman to fill the void in his life.
The character may be suffering from Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is the medical term for it. I am not a doctor, but consult Liveofdalla about those types of characteristics and his possible mental illness , to be sure what the diagnosis would be.
What determines that Joe is a sociopath is that he has feelings, falls in love and even feels he must protect people who need his help. For example, the boy who was his neighbor in the first season and then Ellie, his landlady's little sister in the second. A psychopath has no feelings, feels nothing, is incapable of empathy for another human being, that is why Joe's disorder falls into the category of sociopath.
It is also evident when Joe feels some remorse after committing a murder, when he is forced to do so. Although these are fleeting moments, he shows some degree of humanity, but circumstances and a sense of survival, cause him to lose control of his impulses and end up committing these crimes.
Love Quinn
The best character in the entire series. Another reason why I quickly devoured the second and third seasons. The beautiful Victoria Pedretti is perfect playing this magnificent character and it brings a total twist to the story, injecting other nuances and points of view. Her character is very important, otherwise the story would have become too stagnant in very repetitive situations.
I don't know how it will be in the books, but the version in the series is very relevant, there were times when I was interested in seeing more scenes of her than of the main character. I don't want to say anything important, so that those who haven't seen the series, get interested and do it soon.
Love Quinn made me fall in love with her and her transformation played out very well, much of the credit goes to the actress. She was the perfect match for Joe, but it was a train wreck with devastating consequences for one party.
Season Four
Joe's new adventures and obsessions will be divided into two parts. Both parts will premiere next year. In February and March, so it's a good thing they won't have much time apart both parts. That's what the trailer Netflix released four weeks ago says and I hope they don't make some date change.
The teaser trailer shows that Joe has changed his name again, grown a beard, to change his look and new characters will be in his life, candidates to be part of his new collection of corpses . I'm hoping one of the old characters will make a surprise appearance, which one could it be?
You is a ridiculously addictive series, I don't want to build up high expectations for season four, I feel the story could fall into a point of viewer exhaustion by repeating a structure we've seen in three seasons. Also, the new characters have to be very well built to fill the void left by others who will no longer return.

Joe es un sociópata
El personaje es definitivamente un sociópata. Quiere llenar el vacío de su madre con las mujeres de las que se enamora, proyectando inconscientemente el amor de su madre en las mujeres, por lo que cuando consigue su objetivo y éstas no acaban siendo lo que él imaginaba, se aburre y se obsesiona rápidamente con otra. Es una búsqueda constante de una mujer que llene el vacío en su vida.
El personaje puede estar sufriendo un Trastorno Antisocial de la Personalidad, que es el término médico que se utiliza, para ello. No soy medico, pero consulte a Liveofdalla sobre ese tipo de características y su posible enfermedad mental , para estar seguro de cuál sería el diagnóstico.
Lo que determina que Joe es un sociópata es que tiene sentimientos, se enamora e incluso siente que debe proteger a las personas que necesitan su ayuda. Por ejemplo, el chico que era su vecino en la primera temporada y luego Ellie, la hermana pequeña de su casera en la segunda. Un psicópata no tiene sentimientos, no siente nada, es incapaz de sentir empatía por otro ser humano, por eso el trastorno de Joe entra en la categoría de sociópata.
También es evidente cuando Joe siente algún remordimiento después de cometer un asesinato, cuando se ve obligado a hacerlo. Aunque son momentos fugaces, muestra cierto grado de humanidad, pero las circunstancias y el sentido de supervivencia, hacen que pierda el control de sus impulsos y acabe cometiendo estos crímenes.
Love Quinn
El mejor personaje de toda la serie. Otra razón por la que devoré rápidamente la segunda y tercera temporada. La bella Victoria Pedretti está perfecta interpretando a este magnífico personaje y eso le da un giro total a la historia, inyectando otros matices y puntos de vista. Su personaje es muy importante, de lo contrario la historia se hubiera estancado demasiado en situaciones muy repetitivas.
No sé cómo será en los libros, pero la versión en la serie es muy relevante, había veces que me interesaba ver más escenas de ella que del protagonista. No quiero decir nada importante, para que los que no han visto la serie, se interesen y lo hagan pronto.
Love Quinn me enamoró y su transformación se desarrolló muy bien, gran parte del mérito es de la actriz. Era la pareja perfecta para Joe, pero fue un choque de trenes con consecuencias devastadoras para una de las partes.
Cuarta temporada
Las nuevas aventuras y obsesiones de Joe se dividirán en dos partes. Ambas partes se estrenarán el próximo año. En febrero y marzo, así que es bueno que no tengan mucho tiempo de separación ambas partes. Eso es lo que dice el tráiler que Netflix lanzó hace cuatro semanas y espero no hagan algún cambio de fecha.
El teaser tráiler muestra que Joe ha vuelto a cambiar de nombre, se ha dejado barba, para cambiar de look y nuevos personajes estarán en su vida, candidatos a formar parte de su nueva colección de cadáveres . You es una serie ridículamente adictiva, no quiero crear grandes expectativas para la cuarta temporada, siento que la historia podría caer en un punto de agotamiento del espectador al repetir una estructura que hemos visto en tres temporadas. Además, los nuevos personajes tienen que estar muy bien construidos para llenar el vacío que dejan otros que ya no volverán.
