Years back when I was in secondary school, we were being conveyed back to school after an excursion. I tried to throw away a biscuit wrap out of the window and that was the beginning of me being conscious of how I dispose of refuge.
I was corrected by my classmate, in fact they literally finished my life that day. It became part of me anytime I happened to eat something in public. I carry it in my bag till I find a dustbin to dispose of it properly.

I could remember a friend of mine telling me how neat and strict it is with disposal of refuge in Akwa Ibom state. From her point of view, you dare not throw away refuge anywhere, if you're caught you are made to pack other refuse dumps or clean up the gutters.
I didn't believe her till I visited the state to see how neat it looked. Most times people are carefree over disposal of their refuge because there is no law or punishment attached to it or fine attached to it so they have that leverage to do whatever they want even though they know deep down it is wrong.
We cause pollution in our environment and pollution in turn hurts us by making us sick whether is water pollution, land pollution or Air pollution. There all dangerous to the human system.
People go as far as dumping their refuge in the gutters causing blockage and whenever there is a heavy rain fall, you will see some locations flooded not that they don't have any proper drainage but all the drainage are blocked due to human activities. Series of stagnant water in these gutters makes it a habitation for mosquitoes to breed then foul odor from this same gutters causing air pollution and yet we suffer from all these by having mosquitoe bite in turn which causes malaria.
It's so apolloing in the market, you would find heps of refuge dump that is so bad and smells awfully and you still find someone selling food stuffs close to it. Then I ask this question, is this person so comfortable selling her produce right Infront of a sewage dump with foul odor?
The harmful part, people still buy from them especially food stuffs, flies perch on these sewage them peech on these food stuffs and we eat in turn causing diarrhea for ourselves.
If people can be conscious of the amount of damage they cause to their health because of improper waste disposal but everyone is carefree, is none of their business as long as the refuge is not dumped right Infront of their houses.
Come to think of it, what about noise pollution, noise pollution is another level especially when you live in highly industrislized places that uses heavy equipment and machines. I don't think you will have peace of mind. It so bad that every minute of the day there is so much noise. You can't help it.
If the authorities can make a strict law over improper waste disposal then I think pollution can be managed.
