Growing up, going to school wasn't something interesting for me but I had no option as it was compulsory in my house that all must read up to the tertiary level. My father and mother were teachers and so you can understand why it was so, hehe. I remember we anticipated days of vacation from school and if we felt any bit of dizziness or pain in the body, school was canceled for the day, hehe.
Days passed, and years went by and the children became big boys and big girls and now we understand better what good was done to us by that law at home. We all picked up a profession and decided to see ourselves achieve it. My elder brother had always said he wanted to be a journalist and so would study mass communication in the higher institution but I for once was never decisive, its either it is Law, medicine, engineer, banking, or the same mass communication. So you can see how my life has been scattered right from time, hehe.
Well, today I am not even in any of the fields mentioned above but where I am now I love it so much. Life happened and chose for me and I embraced it, hehe.my elder brother was serious enough and achieved that aim to read mass communication and today he is a journalist even with a masters degree from a university in London.
I remember how we often argued about the authenticity of the news the media gave each time he came home for vacation. At times he would agree that some certain news are exaggerated but at other times of course he would defend the profession that they report the fact. But he never ends without saying that in any news there is an atom of addition and the reason is to make the news sell. So you can imagine.
The worst thing in this is the fact that the addition is made in a very delicate section of the news such that it causes more damage than harm. The headings are constructed in such a way to capture the attention of the audience to read the news but without considering the effect it would create and that is because many do not actually read the news but conclude from the headline.
For instance, a news about a problem in a funeral, you will see or hear headline such as "The dead refused to be burried". But when you go on to read the content you will be disappointed, hehe. But Of a truth, seeing this kind of headline would make you want to read what happened. So I feel the media cause unnecessary agitation in the mind of the public.
The most recent of the issues which the media caused a great chaos un the society is the news about the Catholic Church permitting gay marriage. The media reported thus "The Pope permits gay marriage". This created so much chaos such that in Africa, a lot of fathers who don't go to church stopped their children and wives who attended the Catholic Church from doing so. But in reality, the Pope never permitted gay marriage and in fact cannot.
Personally I like the fact that the media bring information about events not known to the general public but the fact of over exaggeration for the sake of gaining more audience is for me a bad idea and ruins the whole good. However, it's important to note that not all media houses do so, some are actually committed to giving accurate and proper information and to those, I give kudos.
Crypto News
Talking about crypto news, I think from the few experiences I have had, the crypto news are delivered with more sincerity and transparency. Only few occasions where I have seen some kinds of exaggerations but not really from media houses proper but individuals wanting to promote their blog.
For me, the crypto market is more systematic and very committed to duties such that its operations are even though transparent but very solid. For instance the organization of #hive is just so great. The whole system just seem very perfect and I wonder how the builders have done that.
Writing about my feeling about the media is something i have been wanting to do and the aprilinleo prompt triggered me to do so, hehe. I invite you to check it out and join as you will definitely find topics that interest you to write on.
