Green Snakes Breakfast - Bloukop Lizard
Lizards are quite territorial, we have a lot of skinks and bloukop residing in the thick bush up our driveway, (every couple of years do find the odd chameleon which always makes me happy), but here we are with a green snake and what appears to be a Bloukop.

The most common snakes found in our garden is the Spotted Bush Snake, this may be another resident Eastern Natal Green Snake, but heck I am not qualified to identify - I do know both are harmless to humans, when we do see them leave them alone.
Where we live we have an abundance of Gecko's, snakes will be attracted to this meal on hand, keeping the population down. This is a lot bigger than a gecko!

Another view trying to get in length of snake, I would say just under 3 foot long, not too big, quite slim with beautiful markings on it sleek skin.

Lizards and gecko's enjoy eating smaller insects, flies, butterflies, moths, ants, flying ants, grasshoppers, beetles, millipedes and more, all of which the bounty hunt once again is plentiful.

Gulp, what a big breakfast, will he get it down? No kidding his mouth looked bigger than his belly could hold! Perhaps he has lost his appetite who knows, the next thing I look he spat him out. Did Bloukoppie bite his tongue, or was it a case of biting off more than he could chew, look at what transpired next....

Live for another day, not sure the snake moved off into the bush, bloukop looked stunned scurrying away, what the snake had for breakfast one will never know. Snake may have moved off to find another quieter place to take on the kill again.

Unfortunately for the Spotted Bush Snake they are killed in large numbers after mistakenly being misidentified as Green Mambas or Boomslang. Source
This drama unfolded on my driveway about 12 foot away from the carport I had mushrooms under, walking around a garden there is always something interesting to see, life never has dull moments.
