The more that we indulge ourselves everywhere, the more learning we get. As we grow older, learning didn't just exist in school it is everywhere and anywhere. With the advent of technology, we were able to learn and communicate with our loved ones. We interact with people online through the apps that we downloaded like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and many more. This is what we called Web2.
Now, that we are taking space, more advanced and techy, it is our advantage that we are already here in what we are called Web3. This includes our proud and loud Hive Blockchain. The new face of the internet comes to introduce together with other key partners like Hive, Bitget, Tekkon, CoinW, and others. It was hosted by Bitskwela at Ayala Malls, Central Bloc, Cebu IT Park, Cebu City, yesterday, July 15, 2023.
The Venue
The scheduled time to start was 5 pm, but we (together with my husband) were a bit late due to the heavy traffic jam we experienced coming here. Then, we took our dinner at the nearest food chain.
On the 3rd floor of Ayala Mall, where the event is about to start. The staff scanned my QR code as a pass to get in. People are already comfortable with their sits and others were still inquiring about the apps.
Cameras everywhere we're ready and the speakers are ready to take onstage. I can feel the eagerness of each attendee who supported where they belong. Just like us, who's all-out support for Hive.
Sir Nathan explaining a game which is Splinterlands.
Before the event started, we had a chance to interact with the co-founder of @D.Buzz in the person of sir @nathansenn and @kenny.rogers. We got a T-shirt merch and stickers from their booth also.
At exactly 6 pm, the event was moderated by an energetic and lively Miss Kish Morales. She was indeed a talent for moderating the crowd. This was my first time witnessing this kind of event with a Professional host and there's no dull moment if she's the one holding the microphone.
A personal from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Emmy Lou Delfin, Director IV, ICT Industry Development Bureau, gave a message about the Web3 space. We have to be aware of this new internet as we embark on a new chapter of the online world.
The next who spoke about Web3 is Sir Aaron Lay, he is the core contributor of Bitskwela and it's been seven years of trading experience. He even defines what cryptocurrency means, and the disadvantages of roaming around in Web2 because there is a certain restriction when we violate the rules in a community wherein in We3 we are the owner of the account, we are the owner of our bank account because everything is transparent. Everyone can visit and see how you grow your account. The challenge here is we have to accept and be bullish on the new internet.
Miss Raine Laluna from Spera Solutions talked about her experience while in this company and keep on spreading the good news to people.
Next was Sir Nathan Senn, our most anticipated speaker that night. As he discussed how secure our data privacy, ownership control, financial inclusion, and token economy. He also includes our Hive Ecosystem which has more applications, tools, games, and services offered by Hive.
Bitget with sir Jeffrey Saenz talked about the transparency of centralized exchanges.
Tekkon with sir Crypto Pareh, asked us about what can't live without. Some say, cellphones, electricity, and water. Everything that we used every day is our needs however situations like this, a cell phone could be in our need.
Jearon Wong from CoinW, let us ask what trade we are using if ever we have one. We answered Binance since we are using it during the withdrawal period. They are competitors in this industry.
The DICT Engineer Royden Rusiana gave his message about the advancement of technology where we have to embrace and make it public this Web3. Also, Congressman Edu Rama has to make a talk however his attorney has to make it possible on his behalf. He was glad to announce that they have installed internet in the mountain barangays. According to him, 80% of the second district of Cebu is mountain barangay and has a lack of connection. In this case, people are served.
Before the debate started, the host initiated a short game in which we have to participate to get free T-shirt merch. Luckily, I won a yellow Bitskwela shirt. Woohoo!
The Philippine We3 Debate 2023
The moderator called the debater one by one. From the left, Sir Donald Lim of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines, Ashtley Sandoval of Creativepreneur, Sir Nathan Senn of Hive and D.buzz, Coach Miranda Miner of Global Miranda Group, Tyrone Bretana of Tier One Alliance and Giu Comia, a content creator.
They will be asking questions and they will be explaining their stand on the statement and tell whether they're bullish (optimistic of the statement) or bearish (pessimistic of the statement). The first two debaters have to give their ideas before the other debater. To make points, they made a QR code so the audience can vote for which side they were in.
The first set of debaters were Sir Donald on the bullish side and Sir Giu on the bearish side. They have to give their knowledge and capacity to convince the people on which stance they were side. They have a brilliant idea of what they are talking about the Web3. I'm amazed yet full of learning what I hear from them. The moderator, Miss Kish, has also an idea and made an additional input.
From the first statement down to the 6th, they were all spontaneous and there was no dull moment as they step on stage. Others are basing on their research however the accuracy is still there and the thought they have given was excellent. No sign of interference thus, each of them is capable and suitable for this debate.
The debate ended with a lot of learning about this Web3 space. Technology has taken over so we have to embrace and accept what the future brings. There are a lot of opportunities to earn and be vigilant as well in interacting with others, might as well we should not reply to those DM's who offer help. Just focus on the goal and let's be brave in taking ourselves to wider technology.
That's all for today Hivers! Thank you for taking the time to read and hope you have learned about Web3. I know that it's a long way to go but let's just keep on believing in ourselves and to people to bring us here @indayclara and sir @ybanezkim26, we awe you a lot guys. We love you big time!
