The Nigerian economic system of government has made citizens not depend on them for survival due to the increasing scarcity of employment; however, the emergence of Web3 technology has offered hope for countless individuals seeking alternative career paths – that is, a new means of survival. Starting with myself, the decision to go into content creation within the Web3 space has not only been a choice but also a means of empowerment.
After my university journey, the lack of employment opportunities provided by my government left me feeling discouraged and uncertain about my future. However, the advent of Web3 technology opened doors that I never thought possible. Hive, which is a popularly known decentralized platform has been my savior for years now because it offers one the leverage to build his writing skills to not only earn a living but also thrive independently.
One of the most significant advantages Hive has offered us - the content creator in the space is the ability to be the boss of our own. Unlike the employment acquired by the government or any traditional organization, where one typically writes for others in exchange for a salary, Hive rather empowers individuals to create content for themselves and monetize it directly. Such a great offer! This means that the quality of my work directly relates to the rewards I receive, offering a practical motivation to constantly grow and improve my talents. This means I am responsible for my growth in Hive – through my consistent engagements in postings and other activities in the space.
By embracing content creation in the Hive ecosystem, I have been able to break free from the traditional means of employment and create my own path to success. This space has caused me to both earn and grow – unlike working for someone who dictates my level of growth based on the content I am instructed to create. Indeed, I have found a sense of empowerment and independence that was previously lacking.
Furthermore, the financial rewards afforded by Hive content creation have allowed me to live comfortably and pursue my passions without the constant worry of financial instability in this country I am; which is why I try my best to showcase the platform to my friends, families, and other internet users especially those in Nigeria. This newfound stability has not only improved my quality of life but has also enabled me to invest in further developing my skills and exploring new opportunities within the ever-expanding Web3 ecosystem.
