There was this euphoria or an awakening about @mistakili's compelling post that I could relate with. As a young man who had almost everything working against him I have come to realize that crypto doesn't just create a platform, it creates dependability where uncertainty has established lack, exploitation, and limitation.
As a child, there was this mentality that the best way to create an opportunity of becoming rich was to stay away from playing football, playing games, watching movies, and many other things and focus on education, graduating with the best results, and working in the biggest companies and earning 5 figures at least.
There was a societal premise that attaining financial stability or freedom was through degrees people who choose to learn a trade was seen as people who wouldn't make it or cut it big financially.
The Mindless Chase
Over 15 years later, I've come to realize that being wealthy is an illusion especially when you're existing in a country with limited opportunities. Why is this? Back then many people channeled their energy, efforts, and time to ventures that were not just wrong, but not productive and innovative.
While the aim of making these sacrifices was to become rich, they failed to rarely equip themselves with the knowledge that matters. Mainstream knowledge creates mainstream skills which in turn creates people with skills that are not relevant beyond the four walls of a company.
For example, too many people are studying too hard to be chartered accountants, yet more people are too broke to start up their company as well as more people who are depending on commercial banks to offer them big gigs, immediately they graduate.
The Case Of Productivity & Worth
In Nigeria, the level of productivity of average people often determines their worth. The kind of jobs they work and the time they give in to these jobs determines their pay cut. For example, it's expected that when a person is working from 8am to 10pm that the salary will automatically be higher than that of a person who works from 8 to 3pm.
This mentality ties physicality to money providence. That's why older people find it difficult to be financially free because their level of physicality has dropped and they're no longer fit to compete at the highest level. Old age translates to poor, inadequate, and inability.
This means that it's automatically felt that old people do not have the strength to be innovative. Mental strength or finesse is often overlooked, especially when one's ability to physically hustle is waning. So, people sacrifice their effort and time for money, and when they don't have effort or time to offer, they're deemed surplus to requirements.
Survival requires endless sacrifice
.......but over time, I realized that I didn't want this life. A life where you have to chip off at least 1% of your lifespan in exchange for maybe $100 every month. Which mathematically explains that 100% of one's prospective lifespan is exactly $100 multiple by 100%. So if you're giving off 1% of your lifespan monthly for $100, what is the guaranteed quality of life?
These are reasons why people die too early. Take a look at the queen of England, she's probably 90 and looking as if she'll reign for even 10 years extra to come.
Not that everyone would be exceedingly lucky to have such a life, but I do believe that at least people deserve jobs that do not directly threaten their lives or jobs where their level of physicality determines their output because people don't stay young forever and being old and unemployment shouldn't translate to poverty.
Crypto 98%.... Life Goals
Crypto has built 98% of my life goals. Especially when I found it difficult to compete with people who are physically more endowed with effort, time, and hustle. A lot of people worried about me leaving my job after seven years, but the surprising thing is that I didn't leave the job because it was paid poorly, I left the job because it threatened my life.
I was prepared to keep living below my means, or having no immediate plans for my future, but having my life threatened was an all-time low and I refused to live within that exploitation and all that misery.
Crypto has been accomplishing, with the sophistication options of compounding one can build a future where they'll only relax, "low efforts more money". Everyone deserves the right quality of life, and without life, the essence of money-making is only void and aimless. Crypto helps one live a tailored life, even in the midst of all that FOMO, FUD and volatility
